Today I turn 55, I've watched every play of every game since 1974. I used to cry when we lost, I even beat up my best friend in HS because he kept making fun of me cause his Commanders beat my Cowboys. As I grew up and life hit me in the face, my loyalty and fandom stayed the same, but my reaction to wins and losses changed. Other than my playful Garrett sucks rant, I now take it with a grain of salt, lime and tequila!

How do you take the wins and losses??

BTW, not looking for birthday wishes, it's understood. Salud!!
Had you pegged for at least 56 for several reasons, but ok.

Enjoy yourself and yours sir!

Happy Birthday sonny boy. I turn 70 this year, but I bike ride 25 miles, play golf, and shoot hoops.
The streets ran red with blood when the Cowboys lost! I used to get pretty hot when they lost, but now I just throw a beer through screen. :muttley:Not really, but there are days...
I have a Margarita with Padrone and Cointreau to kill the aftertaste of defeat.
I watched Eddie LeBaron play that first franchise year - fuzzy childhood memories.

I did! It was after the first 90s SB. Same friend from HS. I doused him with charcoal lighter fluids and chased him with a lighter. He jumped over a chain link fence. He was pretty agile for a 6'2" 270 pounder! Good times!
LOL!

I watched my very first Cowboys game when I was nine years old. January 1, 1967. That was the Packers Cowboys championship game where Meredith threw an interception in the Endzone on fourth down at the very end of the game. The year ended that New Year’s Eve with the Ice Bowl. As education and my job moved me around the country before the Internet and today’s expanded coverage of the NFL, I did miss a few games here and there. But in my now 64 years I’ve watched every game that I could and listened to others on the radio.

Happy Birthday. But the most important question is “what is on the birthday menu? “

Baby back ribs with a side of baked potato salad with bacon, cheese, sour cream and chives!

When they win I go pee.
When they lose I go pee.
Because beer makes me need to pee.

I go in mourning for about a day after a loss. Winning makes it a pleasant week.

The craziest thing I ever did. It was break a brand new Sears 26 inch Consol TV set when Smith dropped the football in the Super Bowl. I’m not that invested still but I love this game and I can’t wait for Sunday

That’s why it’s upsets me so much. When people are willing to tank to get better. Or hate our current quarterback and other players. I can understand critiquing. But they think there’s something sitting on the shelf waiting to replace them. I suffered through 26 other starting quarterbacks after Troy Aikman. I can settle for Prescott. In fact I think the kid is a winner

I totally get it my cowboy brother. And then you have these nonchalant fans who come here and troll. And can’t understand why we give them a hard time. Part time fans.

I lived and died with the Landry Cowboys, hated the change, but came to peace with the Johnson 'Boys, and slipped into the, "what will be will be" phase since.
I no longer celebrate victories or replay defeats. Game day is no longer an anticipation of, "We're going to win today!"
Instead its become, "Well, let's see what happens."
I still have the passion. But this is what the Jones family has brought to this franchise

Happy Birthday, Ranching, hopefully, we all get to see one more Super Bowl before too many more birthdays.
