Randy White started out as a FB in college at Maryland. Not sure if the Cowboys started White at LB first before moving to DE. I think so.
They did because that's the position he played at MD when drafted, LB.. Landry moved him to DT and he and Harvey Martin got co-MVP's in the SB.

If memory serves me correct, Tuinei switched from DL to OL.
you going back almost 30 years. I know it can be done. But you are putting the kid at the bottom of an even steeper hill to climb.

I think one thing Alarcon has going for him is this will be the 2nd year coming to camp, the guy has the physical abilities you look for but needs work on technique which can be taught. He clearly has a challenge in front of him but at 22 years old he still has some time to achieve his dream just going to take a lot of work on his part.

Eligible to participate in this year's rookie minicamp, he's not only developing, but in impressive fashion. BOOM!

Hi Cowboys fans, I live in Monterrey, Mexico I ‘been watching the boys games since I was a kid, (now I,m 65), it’s not expensive at all and there is a great base of Cowboys fans here in Monterrey.

Alarcon played for one of the best teams in the country, Tec de Monterrey, I agree that it’s a long shot to make it (they have a roster exception this year), that said, he has a great hart and his motor is always running in high speed, if the coaches teach him how to play in this level he could make the team but don’t get your hopes up.

Best wishes to all

It still amazes me how many fans comment about a player or coach without at least checking out about the player especially. Has anyone checked out what Tyron Smith or the OL coach said about Alarcon? Anyone check out who he has been working out with and how he is doing with his strength or footwork? Anyone check out any comments about him from Jerry or Stephen about him? Most likely not on any of these for the vast majority of fans.

Alarcon may turn out to be nothing. But based on Smith and coaches Moore and Philbin, I think he is going to be a starter in the league in a year or two. Will it be Dallas? Who knows but Smith believes he could be a good as he is and frankly that's enough for me.

Frankly none of us have seen what he can or can't do. There was no pre season last year so right now we base things on the unknown. Alarcon did have some limited training camp last season and instruction of things he needed to work on as he attempts to develop at this level. This year he will likely get a chance at live action during the pre season and we will all get to see if this kid has a chance or not. This past April was drafted by Calgary Stampeders of the CFL but looks like he want to follow his dream of the NFL.

As I recall a while back, Dak Prescott made some very encouraging comments about him.
It was way more than a little evident that he was impressed with this fella's potential. :flagwave:

I’m hoping he can become our Jordan Mailata, I think he is going to be a good player for the eagles.

Uneducated?
$1000 says he doesn't make the active roster.
You have a PayPal account?

C'mon. Not fair to take a bet you know will succeed.:)

A player with an International exemption is NOT allowed be on the active roster for any of the 2 seasons the player is on the scheme. Even if this guy looks like a HOF player in training camp, he still wont make the roster.

Smart bet on his part.

We don't know if it's right or wrong, but the negativity is tiresome
It is not negatively to state the obvious. Did you miss the thread when the Cowboys got his rights? He was buried and labeled a waste of time. Has he proven otherwise? Some of you just can’t handle the realistic truth.

There are a lot of scouts here.

And some of you can't pull your head out and give someone a chance.
