Kyler doesn't seem to realize that he's setting himself up for a sound butt whooping! Keep it up, son!
Agitating a mad beast is no way to survive! It's really the quickest way to ensure your demise!
I am not sure I would characterize the Cowboys D as a mad beast just yet. They have to prove they're not the annoyed kitten they were last season and swatting at the string.

If you are raising kids where they watch with their Dads from the time they are very young they become fans before they are paying attention to wins and losses.

Besides, it’s not as if Minnesota was setting the NFL on fire when Murray was a kid, so there was some influence besides wins and losses.
Sometimes it's a player. I became a Chargers fan when they drafted Lance Alworth, my childhood hero.

There are many reasons why fans select their teams and why they dislike some specific teams. It's not all about proximity of the team.

Mine watched with me. He has his own mind. He's an athlete himself as well as I have nephews who are athletes and never saw it for the Boys aren't fans. They have rooted for them but never were inclined to become fans. This generation of kids want to see winners. Save that becoming fans because of their dads stuff. Even when my son was too young to understand wins and losses, we didn't have anything to celebrate about the franchise. Kyler is about the same age as my nephews, I'm not surprised.
So, how do you explain the choice of the Vikings? Do we think Murray picked up on those couple of good years when he was 2-3?years old? Or was he a bandwagon jumper and picked up on the year or two they were pretty good when he was about 11-12?

I hope Kyler got our guys ticked off enough with his big mouth to make him pay. If they're not up to it, that's a sorry situation! :omg:

His family may have moved to Texas from Minnesota, who knows. I can give you two reasons why I dislike Pissburgh more than any other team - super bowls X and XIII. Those bastages darn near ruined my childhood.

I also kept up with the Chargers when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton, even got to go to a Dallas - San Diego game at Jack Murphy back in 1986. But I put them in the rear view when I moved back to Texas.

Absolutely a player can matter. I think especially in today’s world where players get so much media attention and there are so many media outlets for people to see. That’s one of a number of possible things that could have colored Murray’s viewpoint besides deciding the Cowboys were losers.

I never liked Murray. Truth is, I never really gave him much thought either way so I don't really care if he likes the Cowboys or not.

But his words are interesting. We should all pay attention to them. He's a young player in the NFL who has never seen a day where the Cowboys have ever been what many of us grew up watching them be. They have never mattered in his mind, one way or the other. He sees the Cowboys as I see him, basically.

Think about that for a second. This is what 30 years of being more concerned with ticket sales and merchandising will bring you.

I don't blame Murray for what he thinks. It's what we should all expect really.

Murray is from Dallas and his dad briefly played for the Cowboys in preseason after playing for Texas A&M.

Do you think Murray just became a fan as an adult? I became a fan at about 6 years old. No young kid is examining the owner or GM or the OL. Most become fans of the local team that is on TV and followed by family and friends.

I don’t know why Murray did not become a Cowboy fan, or why he chose the Vikings, who incidentally were not exactly the elite of the NFL when he was a kid growing up. Maybe is Dad hated the Cowboys and he picked up on that. Maybe he had family from Minnesota. It I’ll bet dollars to donuts it wasn’t because he scrutinized the ownership and management and studied the interior linemen as a young grade school kid.
The Vikings were the best team in the league for a couple of years with Cunningham, Carter, Moss, and Robert Smith. They missed a field goal that would have put them in the Super Bowl.

He was 1 year old at the time. I'm guessing he doesn't have crystal clear memories of that. From the time he was 4 years old until he entered the NFL the Vikings averaged 8.0 wins per season (the Cowboys averaged 8.6). Obvioiusly he would have grown up with neither team being among the winning teams of that era.
