Lol, I will vouch for you!!Dang I need to get a screenshot of that so I can prove to my wife that somebody thinks I make sense every now & then.
Lol, the Cowboys haven't even won a divisional round game.Living off past glories? Every team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl for years does that. At least we HAVE a winning legacy. For every entitled Dallas fan that guarantees failure because they haven’t been able to strut at the watercooler for years, for every perpetually miserable, deadly serious “realist” that feels more enlightened, there are a hundred logical, reasonable fans who simply enjoy the game and hope for the best. Yes, Jerry Jones has failed many times as a GM, the culture of the franchise has failed too, but there are so many variables that are equally responsible. While the hype and glitz and entitlement many times DO draw parallels to the Kardashians—we ain’t them.
Discussing, lamenting, debating, venting—all natural, all expected on a fan forum, but we need to find a middle ground. Being perpetually miserable, convinced that the future holds nothing but failure robs people of the simple pleasure of being a fan. I choose to be optimistic and hopeful, I’m intrigued by this year’s team building, and I apologize for nothing.
Your mindset is up to you.
Marquee franchise qualifications:
1. You are the gold standard of winning esp playoff games
2. You occasionally win a super bowl or at least play in a conference championship game
3. TV ratings, spotlight, value of team is irrelevant since this is about winning
4. See 1-3
If there’s no difference, why are you a Cowboys fan?Lol, the Cowboys haven't even won a divisional round game.
On the field, we're the Lions.
No, I just wonder why anyone would bother if they were positive their team had no chance whatsoever.
I never claimed it did.
Anyone who discredits the relevance of the Cowboys in the world of sports, let alone just the NFL, is being silly.
I want the team to win. Their value is of minimal importance to me, but to discount how NFL players and most of the world, view the team is myopic. Players care, and care deeply, about branding and, most importantly, money. The Cowboys are and, for the foreseeable future, will continue to be the “marquee” team in the NFL with their only rival at any given time being whatever current team has a current dynasty.
The entire thread is a troll attempt
What does is the fact that the networks put us on more nationally televised games than any other team. That's what a marquee franchise is. Drop Mic..
The Cowboys and all other NFL teams have to deal with a hard cap which gives all teams a fair chance and makes the sport competitive. The Yankees can spend over $200M on a team payroll while the Pirates spend $50M. The Cowboys and other teams acquire players through the draft and free agency which is very fair and competitive. The Yankees don’t.
I don’t know about basketball and their soft cap since I haven’t watched a game in over 30 years. I haven’t watched a baseball game or followed baseball for almost 40 years so maybe my numbers are off.
My same question to CONSPIRACY! theorists all the time. Still no answers. Lol.

That’s you creating your own personal definition, not applying a true definition. Players who use the term “marquee” don’t know your definition and would not be obligated to use it if they did.Marquee franchise qualifications:
1. You are the gold standard of winning esp playoff games
2. You occasionally win a super bowl or at least play in a conference championship game

1)So who’s the “Gold Standard”? Steelers? They were around for how many decades before they started winning in the 70’s, were crap again in the 80’s, and last won a SB how many years ago? If you say Patriots, last year they sucked, and before Brady/Belechick they were nothing. My point? Success comes and goes.
2)Occasionally means not always, so there IS hope, right?
3)While winning IS the ultimate goal, ratings, spotlight and value MAKE a team visible. Visible means relevant.
4)Think whatever you want. I’m done trying to convince you. It’s a waste of my time.
5)I see a much better team in 2021, but who knows? So many things COULD derail us, BESIDES Jerry Jones.
How is Dallas a relevant team within the NFL?
They have not been to the Super Bowl since the 1995-1996 season, have a .500 or worse record in the last 25 seasons, have been to the playoffs in 10 of the last 25 seasons, have double digit wins in 8 of the last 25 seasons, and have a 4-10 playoff record in the last 25 seasons.........so again I ask: where is the team relevance?????
That’s you creating your own personal definition, not applying a true definition. Players who use the term “marquee” don’t know your definition and would not be obligated to use it if they did.
Then your definition of a marquee franchise has little to do with on the field results and more to do with the amount of media coverage and scrutiny.

We have advanced past the first round in the playoffs three times in 25 years so why do new draft picks act so excited to go to a losing franchise with 25 years of playoff irrelevancy? It’s like being drafted by the Lions or Bengals except we have five super bowl wins a quarter of a century ago.
