Do you build Cowboy football shrines on game days at home?

I never really have done a shrine, per se. I do always get a 6er of Shiner Bock and make some green chili queso for every opening game (most games really). This year, however, my Mom passed recently and I have her ashes in a Dallas Cowboys vase. She loved the Cowboys so every game from now on she'll be with me cheering on the boys!
That is sort of what I mean. Nice you include Mom. My mom also was a big fan. Back in the early days in the Cotton Bowl my Mom would fry up chicken and we would eat that. After awhile they stopped allowing food in the stadium. But Sunday home games were Moms time to cook. She would prepare it before we would go to the game and let it warm on low while we went to the game. Great memories of momma.

This is a thing I have done since the 1960s..

On game day I build a Shrine next to the TV with Cowboy stuff to chase away the gremlins. How about you guys? Hats tee shirts..game programs keychain..you name it. I have a strict ritual that I celebrate 24 hrs then remove until next game on Sunday or whatever day.

I know I am a homer but so what. For years it worked. What I failed to realize was my good luck voodoo was Tom Landry and Roger Staubach.

Yikes.
Of course. I have a miniature replica of the Ring of Honor with a spotlight shining on it. In the middle is a gold statue of Nate Newton and I rub his belly for luck. I also have a gold image of Staubach with angel wings hanging from the ceiling, as if looking down from heaven. I know, he’s not dead, but they have already made room for him.

I sacrifice a goat dressed in blue and silver on game days, and drink the blood. . I started to sacrifice my first born once, but my wife stopped me. It’s okay, he’s older now and he understands.

I had Jimmy Swaggart pray over my TV. He got a moderate fee of course.

Understood. Seems like lots of potenial for running around. I used to love the original football board game that vibrated the teams after you lined them up. Hiding that fuzzy ball on a player was always an adventure. Then it would fall out. Zeke Reminded me of that last year when he was fumbling so much.
runs thru the hole about the same too.

I definitely have a ritual. I clean the house spotless. I put out the helmet and shoulder pads. I send everybody away for the day

I bet everyone is happy to get away from you on game days.

You better stop pestering him. He has the power to bench your butt now.
It's cool.

My Cowboys-themed man-cave over my garage is my sanctuary during games. On game day everyone knows not to bother me. Signs are posted, "Do not disturb, Cowboys game in progress". Invited friends and family have a private external entrance so the Mrs. does not get bothered either. We play poker before and after the game. I missed all that last season. I can't wait to do it again. I bet the wife can't wait to get the credit card back again either.

I hope you're able to get back into the routine.
It sounds awesome.

I have a routine, dont know if its superstitious, but it worked in the 90s. I had sausage croissants from Burger King for breakfast before a Cowboy game and it seems to work. Although during COVID I didn't go like I should have and as I've gotten older those things really aren't good for my health

Absolutely, no shrine. Any shrine the last 25 years should have been burned down by now. They are not working. Now if you gets your paws on a Jerry Jones voodoo doll, let me know. I'll buy that for a dollar.

My Cowboys paraphernalia includes my Tony Romo presigned football from Walmart that has permanently deflated. My Cowboys Mr. Potato Head is missing a limb. The cork padding on my Cowboys star coasters has worn out to unacceptable levels. I am thinking of cremation rather than burial in some landfill.
