Too often fans attribute bad offense to good defense.
first off it was a very fast and heavy pass rush IE good defense that created Wentz fleeing from the pocket , he may have held onto the ball to long sure but the hit and strip was epic..that was very good defense ie started at the snap not the conclusion but hey if you want to TRY HARD to rip the team and not try nd find some positive's from last years debacle, that reflection of your personality..

True, but it also takes good(or at least competent) players to take advantage of a bad offense/player.
Not often do good defenses take advantage of the elite offenses/players.

Wilson did show in a small sample he was capable of providing turnovers given the opportunity against bad players and good ones(Cook hit for example).

This looked like pretty good defense all the way around. Wentz couldn't find an open receiver, and Wilson recognized he couldn't just sit back and give Wentz all day to wait for one to open up, so a good defensive play.
It was, just not to the whiners in here.

54 got blown up with the one hand off balance shove. Weak
You have to realize Smith was covering a receiver running a pass pattern, not bracing for or fighting through a block. Had the ball been thrown it would have been (or should have been) a penalty on the Eagles. If Smith had hit the guy it would have been pass interference on him.

1) Check out the long-haired hippie LB on that play. Spoiler alert - it isn’t pretty. Notice how he took on that block. Dude makes OL Free look like a he-man. Even if Wilson doesn’t make the play, that LB was there to make the tackle 15-20 yards down the field. Jets told Crowder to take 1/2 of his $10M salary or get cut. Crowder, at least, produced.

2) A Crawford sighting - aka highlight. Don’t everyone wax nostalgic at once.

3) Was this the play that finally convinced the Eagles to dump Wentz? If so, thanks for nothing Wilson! :)

Not true. When Jaylon covers he has both hands up like a hostage running out of a building (thank you to whoever posted that classic first at this site) and with his back turned to the QB. That was Jaylon in full attack mode. Beast mode - dare I say.

Throw the ball away.

I mean yes, it was defended well, but there's absolutely no reason for Wentz to hold the football that long.

Well I agree with the bolded, but two things one that.

One is that we always like to "grade" the Cowboys based on opponent quality - you can't play QB any worse than this. The other is that if you're dependent on the offense making a mistake to capitalize, then it's hard to call you a great player. It's basically my stance on safeties overall - that play doesn't exist without a huge failure from the quarterback.

There's plenty of positives from last year but that play isn't indicative of anything.

I'm not trying to rip the team lol, if you want to be that butthurt about it...says more about you than me.
