Do you build Cowboy football shrines on game days at home?

The only "shrine" objects that I'm able to claim to my benefit is my Cowboys helmet that I keep atop one of my stereo speaker. The other one is my Dak Prescott jersey that I've just recently felt proud enough to don on game day. Everyone else in my family fails, miserably, to respect the C'boys enough to my liking. I'm faithfully hoping they'll collectively come around with a more impressive showing in 2021. I refer to both, my family and the Cowboys! ;)

My Cowboys paraphernalia includes my Tony Romo presigned football from Walmart that has permanently deflated. My Cowboys Mr. Potato Head is missing a limb. The cork padding on my Cowboys star coasters has worn out to unacceptable levels. I am thinking of cremation rather than burial in some landfill.
Very considerate.the cremation. An Indian dance around the fire could not hurt either.

This is a thing I have done since the 1960s..

On game day I build a Shrine next to the TV with Cowboy stuff to chase away the gremlins. How about you guys? Hats tee shirts..game programs keychain..you name it. I have a strict ritual that I celebrate 24 hrs then remove until next game on Sunday or whatever day.

I know I am a homer but so what. For years it worked. What I failed to realize was my good luck voodoo was Tom Landry and Roger Staubach.

Yikes.

well i now i know why we have not one in what feels like a hundred years. God does not like us making idols and so he keeps us from winning. hahahaha

Absolutely, no shrine. Any shrine the last 25 years should have been burned down by now. They are not working. Now if you gets your paws on a Jerry Jones voodoo doll, let me know. I'll buy that for a dollar.
Oh brother....make it a dumpster fire so we can all play.please.

But I like collecting..as do most of us. Jewelry is my downfall. If I am somewhere and enjoy being there..I buy a ring or a necklace to remember the good vibes. My ex-wife started me doing this. She liked everywhere I took her..so she loved her collection. Kept it when she left.

The only family with me is only my adult son. He has no real loyalty to the Cowboys,
although, he watches the games with me, so his interest is limited.

He makes all his decisions as an adult, so there's absolutely nothing to discuss.

The rest of my family is scattered all over Texas, so they have no concern of my stuff.

Aside from all of that, I'm altogether satisfied with what I now have. No problem at all.

Nope. I’m a huge fan and long time season ticket holder, but it’s just a game for entertainment. It wasn’t always like that for me. In fact, one of earliest fights my wife and I had was over the Cowboys - she felt I loved them more than her. I made the mistake of replying, “well, I’ve been with them longer.”

But maturity and age has brought on change. And, no, that change has zero to do with Jones’ ownership and 25 years of subpar results. I’m still excited about the team and the season, but whatever happens simply won’t change my life one bit.

The only thing I do for Cowboys games is carve out the 3 hours it takes to watch the game. I used to always watch with friends and do some sort of bbq get together but those days are gone. Watching the game is now out of habit instead of passion so not sure how long I'll even make the time to watch live in the near future.

I do not have one Cowboys logoed item. In fact, I do not have a single NFL item and do not plan on ever owning one.

Religious worshipping and being a Cowboys fan are not in conflict. Even my Pastor respects this relationship when he reminds the congregation when the Cowboys have a noon game on Sunday and Sunday Church services will be complete in plenty of time to get home and watch the game. I wear my Cowboys gear to church so no time is wasted once church service is concluded. However, there are no shrines dedicated to the Cowboys at my house, just a Cowboys-themed man-cave. :)

I drink out of the same coffee mug until they lose. Then switch to a different one.
Needless to say, I did a lot of switching last year. well the last 25 years. :muttley:
