@Ranching No one is going to answer this truthfully....the people that dislike him...the people who dislike him will just say "I have nothing against Dak....I just think he's a bus driver/average/(fill in the blank)".

Disagree, according to you’re premise, unless someone says that they personally “like” a person they have never met nor had interaction with, they must be untruthful.

Some of his are not impressed with his quality of play but aside from the constant self promotion and greed with *****-like levels of seeking sponsor money, I can’t see a reason to dislike him

........but more importantly, how can anyone disapprove of any person who buys he mama a brand new house like Dakota did last year.......Chris Collingsworth told Us that before a national audience last year

The salt of the earth that just keeps putting others before himself

I feel like a lot of Dak haters do not realize the size of the microscope he is under. I'm not as emotionally invested in Dak as a lot of his fanboys are, but a lot of the dumb plays he makes - I've seen Mahomes, Josh Allen, etc make.

I root for Dak, first and foremost, because he's the QB of my favorite team in sports. I rooted for Chad Hutchinson and Quincy, so yeah - I'm gonna root for Dak. I love his story, his humble beginnings, and the adversity hes faced in his personal life. I love his tenacity and his willingness to work despite the fact that he's not the most god-gifted QB in the league. I love his positivity and attitude and his willingness to bond with teammates. He's also tough as nails and wants to win.

Two moments in particular stick out to me. One was the diving attempt at a touchdown in the Seattle playoff game. The other was during his injury against NY last season when he tried to jam his leg back in place even though it was clear on the broadcast that his ankle was shattered.

Another side bar was that throw he made in the back of the endzone to Cole Beasley to beat the Giants, though that catch was just as impressive.

I like his whole story. His mother dying while he was in college. No one giving him much of a chance in college and the pros. But the one thing that stood out to me besides his ability as a top NFL QB was when he got hurt last year and how all his teammates rallied to his side. I’d never seen such emotion from the players over an injured player. It was the nail in the head about something I already knew in that he was a leader. Someone the players will play their *** off for. Some people just have it and some don’t. We’ve all seen it in life especially those in the military. There’s some you’ll go to extreme lengths to support them and then there are those you’d frag. That type of leadership that Dak has accompanied with his QB skills will give this team a chance every year. But like any great QB, this is a team sport and you have to be strong in all 3 areas not to mention coaching to take it all the way.
Need some serious help.

LOL....you are aware Prescott's mom died before he even got into the NFL right? Collinsworth didn't know what he was talking about....

And that's not premise...I'm sure on most guys people will be truthful about how they truly feel about a player but I'm just basing it on how the trolls on this site will answer it. If you're not a troll then it wasn't directed towards you......

Beasley ran 5 yards up and 10 yards out and Dak stood there thinking he could throw the ball to Beasley without stepping into it and the ball landed 5 yards short. It happened on several occasions and they said mechanics were off. Hahahaha what NFL QB has that weak of an arm. Heck any QB in the league could be on his knees and make that throw. That was the beginning when I said uhoh there is something wrong with this guy.

Honestly, I don't think it's Dak fault that the QB market is out of control. I don't have an issue with him, I just don't think he's an elite QB or deserved to be paid as such. If he got top-10 money instead of #1 money and we we able to use that additional cap on other areas, I wouldn't have an issue.
His top one, will be top ten by next year.....

There are many things to like about Dak. There are just as many thing to not like about Dak. This statement is accurate for the majority of people alive today so it's not anything new or different. I like Dak the person, I like the leadership qualities , I like the work he puts into his game. I don't like the inconsistent play we have seen over the course of his career, I don't like that his pocket awareness is lacking a lot of times, leading to turnovers (fumbles mostly) or negative plays (sacks), I don't like that he is not very accurate at times that cost of yards and even points at times. I like that he showed progress each year, I don't like that he is paid like a top 5 QB and is not one (more on the FO than him though).

But regardless, he is the QB of the Cowboys and I will root for him every week, like I have done for every QB and players since I have been 3 years old.
I agree that Dak has some flaws, had some flaws he has improved and corrected. but some of the items you mentioned are more perception than reality., surprisingly he is not sacked as much as people want to believe (their eye test). his worst year was 2018 when we went to playoffs. I need to dig a little deeper, but probably because of the first 8 games where he had no WRs and needed to hold on to the ball longer...vs. the last 8 when we got cooper....I will dig...but he is not among most sacked in the other years. perhaps its perception because some are sensitive to it and elevate it in their minds when it happens and it happens to all of them.

I looked up QB fumbles stats and saw again, similar trend. 2018 being the worst year with 12, tied with Jackson and Wilson had 10..... but other years he is more middle of the pack or lower. its mixed results between QBs on this stat....

Regarding accuracy, I agree. I said that back in 2018. I thought back then it was because of his poor foot work, he lacked confidence in throwing early and would wait too long. once he improved his foot work, his accuracy improved, his sack totals fell, he was much better from the pocket.

I think when he came to the league, being a 4th rounder based on draft evaluations he needed areas of improvement, which he has made improvements and now is among the top 10 QBs in the league..

I won't get into the money aspect, as to me, that's a separate discussion and not football ability related. its business, market value, etc. and we can hash that to death across all players in the league.

I hope he keeps improving. takes the next step in his growth.
