Life experiences have taught me it can be gone in the blink of an eye. I love seeing folks I have posted with over the decades doing well. I am not posting to brag, but more as an encouragement to some who might be going through struggles.

Work hard and try to take advantage of opportunities as they come up. They will come. Everyone is wired differently. I am a risk taker. Lost more than I won.
Not bragging just discussing

And the best time to sell so it always washes. First time home owners I agree and it'll drop but in 3 years will go up and beyond again.

I bet its less than 3 years. This is just a blip.

Very cool, but take care of your money big boy.
You never know the winds of Fate until they hit your sails.

Always best to be prepared for the worst.
Invest and protect.

To be fair. Property is a good way to spend your money. Especially over renting if you can.

But yeah. Definitely dont wanna blow your cash on nonsensical BS.

Pretty sure real estate is a decent investment. Doesn’t look like an extravagant home either.

My property value has skyrocketed. I'd sell it just to pull out the equity, but then I'd have to live in a van down by the river.

hey nothing wrong with that....just get yourself an awesome Mercedes Benz Sprinter camper van. And you don't have to stay down by the river unless you want to.

It's my mom. If I could I will.
And I could, so I did.

And I'm okay. She only lived another 6 months after being the happiest she had been since my father was alive and I...

I miss her. I wish she was here.

Damn, I'm sappy. I need to log off.
She must've been very very proud of you!

She must've been very very proud of you!
She was actually ashamed and it took months for me to get her to let it go and just enjoy life without guilt.
Just as she was getting truly happy and independent is when things took a turn.

Sometimes life really screws with you.

As an unabashed momma's boy, RIP mom, YES.

I'm proud to have bought her a house.
Too bad her ex-husband took it away, but that's neither here nor there.

I bought her another.

Condolences, Corso. I'm fortunate to still have both of mine. I love the times I can pay them back in any way possible.

If I am being really honest, I would rather read that the LB my team just drafted in the 1st round bought his mother a new wood chipper or pickup truck. QBs and WRs can buy their moms a new house or jewelery. Offensive linemen and defensive players buy their moms commercial smokers, pig farms or diamond studded varmint rifles.

Not in the TX market right now. Homes are going for 100k over asking. Thanks California………

Not just TX....pretty much nationwide. Nephew just sold his New Jersey home $50k over his asking price and get this. He rec'd the offer the same it was listed. No way in hell this can continue. At some point, it's going to crash.

Exactly. Where do you go in the meantime when you’re waiting for prices to come back to normal. If you sell high you have to buy high. It’s all a wash. I am happy where I am , 25 minutes from Gillette Stadium

Get an apartment (lol).......hell houses now have very few ( if any ) tax advantages under the new code. You'd almost need a 500k+to i mortgage for enough interest to itemize as oppose to the standard deduction.

It’s been that way for 20 years. In New England.

I bought her another.

I remodeled my Grandparents old house and my Mom now lives in it.

Built in 1950 and I was able to keep the original hardwood floors.
