You might be interested in checking out DC Universe's animated movies and series, especially the Justice League Dark movies. Some gritty stuff. Harley Quinn is cartoon based and hiLARious but totally R-rated. Killing. Gore. Often sadistically twisted.
Animation doesn't trip my switch.

The actress Teagan Croft is the cast's youngest member. Her actual age is close to her Raven character's age when it debuted in DC Comics way back when. I originally thought casting someone so young for the character would be a struggle but she is knocking it out of the park in my opinion.

On the other hand, I thought Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly were both a little long in the tooth for their Hawk and Dove respective roles. I guessed wrong. They are a great combination. I think Ritchson has gotten type-casted for fictional superhero roles though. He played Aquaman in the Smallville series. Methinks Kelly never ages. She must be hiding her portrait in an attic somewhere, lol.

FYI: one of DC's biggest villains, played by Esai Morales, is the centerpiece of season two.
I agree and I went at least 5 deep last night and expected it to start to unravel but it did not. Minka Kelly is easy on the eyes, very easy, , she stole every scene they gave her in "Friday Night Lights" and those lips and eyes are a heartbreaking set.

He deserves a lifetime achievement award, along with Andrew Stevens for producing so many. Before there was streaming, there was Direct To Video and that offered an opportunity for actors and directors to continue to earn a living in their chosen path.

Last I looked he had over 600 acting credits on IMDB

Watched Gunpowder Milkshake on Netflix. I liked it. Enjoyed the story and the visual style. If you like John Wick type movies you may like this.
I was not happy Carla Gugino's character did not make it to the end. Not happy AT all.

Season 2 of Black Summer on Netflix released today. If you didn't watch season 1 it's a zombie series. I enjoyed it.

I am up to episode 5 season 1. I like it to for what it is. It does a pretty good job of showing the stories of ordinary civilians in a zombie outbreak. The only thing I can't figure out is why they aren't trying to find things they can use for weapons or transportation. There are cars everywhere, why not find the key and drive one? And this is America. It can't be that hard to find guns!

ZOO on Netflix. Just about done with episode 2, and coincidentally, just about done with the show. It's like Planet of the Apes, but with different animals.

Gonna go back to try and watch Katla again, see if it gets better. It takes place near an active volcano near a glacier, which is appropriate since it's moving at a glacial pace.

Just finished Katla. It was okay, I guess. 5 out of 10 maybe. It is very slow and they save everything for the last episode. This should have been a 2 hours movie, not an 8 part series. The end, which explained the strange happenings was a pretty big disappointment, Science fiction cliche.

I was hoping to at least see the one girl (as either girl) naked, but they disappointed in that regard too.

HAHA. Yeah, that might have helped the series a bit.

She was naked but covered in ash unfortunately. I thought it was a bit weird they didn't send the changelings into the showed to clean off all the ash and dirt instead of washing them by hand one bit at a time.

Heard and read nothing but good things about The Boys so I decided to binge watch both seasons since I had Amazon Prime. Excellent show. They did a great job in casting the main and sub-characters. Love Karl Urban's New Zealand accent.

A freaking immoral Superman. I really would love seeing Kal-El whip his Homelander <expletive>.

Antony Starr rules in that role. Makes the series for me. But Urban is always great too.

For me, hating a character is proof I love the actor's work. And I REALLY detest Homelander. :muttley: Tony Romo's brother-in-law cracks me up playing The Deep.

God I love to hate him and hate to love him but dang is he one hell of an entertaining character haha. That last scene of season 2 with him...lol yikes!

I cant believe The Boys got nominated for Best Drama along with The Mandalorian. Times a changin'!
