Didn't Maranelli go 0-16 with the Lions? Big difference, when a coach won't adjust to the game as offenses adapt. Maranelli was stubborn and the game has passed him by. You really think Quinn is the same coach as Maranelli? That's hilarious

Rod Marinelli got the HC job in Detroit because of what he did as a DC in Tampa. Same reason Dan Quinn got the HC job in Atlanta because of what he did as a DC in Seattle. Both Marinelli and Quinn were blessed with great defensive players when they were DC’s. Marinelli was a terrible HC but in all fairness he never had a QB. Quinn had one of the best QBs in Matt Ryan but he’ll be best remembered for his teams coughing up huge leads. It’s going to come down to the players whether Quinn has success in Dallas.

It is also pretty easy to see that the players are going to be better as well. There is a lot to like.

The players just started practicing we haven’t even seen them play a game yet. You sound like a typical armchair fan. Lol Try putting the anointing oil away until we’ve played at least one game.

Lol, It is pretty obvious that the team has a decent shot at having a good season. A lot of positive signs to be seen so far. Tell us how do you feel about Parsons and Wright so far? How do you feel about the physical condition of T. Smith, L. Collins, and Zeke?

I never said the team didn’t have a decent shot at having a good season. The defense may end up being a lot better but we’re only three days into training camp to know that. Parsons has the chance to be outstanding but we have to see him perform in games. He hasn’t played since the 2019 season. The same with Wright I don’t anoint anyone until the games start. The bottom line is Quinn got fired in Atlanta because of his defenses. His success as a DC was built off of great players like Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor. We’re going to get a good barometer for where the defense and the team is on opening night against Tampa.

Not very confident Smith will stay healthy. Collins is another concern with the hip. Zeke should be better depending on if the run blocking is better and we’re not playing from behind having to throw the ball 50+ times a game.

I am very confident that the offensive line as a group will be much healthier than last years squad.

It was decimated last year going to be hard repeat that again. Smith has missed multiple games the past five years so highly unlikely he plays all 17.

Take a look at last years defense and tell us how in the world they will not be better this year with the new players and the new coaches? I am very confident that the defense will be improved greatly. Just the shear number of new players gives them outstanding odds on hitting on quite a few good players.

They don't need Smith to play 17. If he pays 12 to 15 games they will be in excellent shape. They can get by with one backup playing.

I agree, but Wade Phillips was a great DC and Norv Turner was a great OC. Neither were good head coaches. Just two good examples of the "Peter Principle"

I am confident we will be better on defense but that ain't saying much. We did add some speed and talent to the defense and only time will tell if the length factor will make a difference.

I think Quinn recognizes he will need to get the talent into the right position to be successful but he does seem to have a plan.
I agree we need to tap the brakes but I feel we are heading in the right direction.

Sure the defense is going to be better it’s going be hard to be worse when it was historically bad last year. It could be better and still be bad because it was so horrible last season. To say it’s going to be “significantly” better is a stretch until we see how it performs when the games start.

Smith plays arguably the most important position on the OL he protects Daks blindside. If he were to miss 5 games that could lead to some big trouble if his replacement is a liability.

There you go, it is obvious that defense is going to be better. It is also obvious that they have the best qb in the division. There is also no way that they have as many injuries as last year. They also have some very talented young players in Lamb and Parsons When you add it all together, they have a great shot at a good season. The odds are on the positive side.

If you want to make predictions on how much better the defense is going to be and how few injuries we’re going to have then go ahead. I don’t even have to look at your posting history to know you have a bad track record.
