Yep, let’s not hire a person with demonstrated competence for GM

what makes people think Troy will be a great GM?

Why would Troy take this position that will never be offered to him?

Because he's a competitor. It would put him back into the competition. Give him new goals in the game he loves.

Heck, listen to his interview on Fish's YouTube channel. He can't say no when asked. He says maybe some day.

He'd be the GM here today if it was offered.

Whether he'd be a good or bad one is really besides the point. He'd at least be one that could be fired. That would be progress.

Honestly I’d take a mannequin at this point, I just don’t get this idea to get ex players for this. To coach? Sure! GM that’s another story! Of course Aikman over Jerry all day every day. But if you’re looking to pass the torch in a “non-Jerry” normal situation then shouldn’t there be some experience involved?

Can Troy be a good GM no one knows yet but sure he would be better than what we have ..I would put him in charge of the organization so he can setup a better culture

Last time Aikman had a hand as GM, he hand-picked some TE. Was the name David LaFlower? Worked out real well.

Aikman was never great as a QB. The team was great. Aikman stinks as an announcer. Listen to Aikman and listen to Romo. See the difference. One knows football, one doesn’t. Aikman is just a name some fans automatically gravitate to.
I see a pattern here and it's a safe assumption you don't like Aikman. I am ok with that because everyone has a right to their own opinion. That being said, in MY OPINION, you are totally wrong on Aikman as a player.

I actually think Aikman would make a horrible GM...He's literally turning into Pat Summerall right before our eyes. Just a matte of time before all the slurring.

Troy would have to marry Jerry jr or Stephen. I don't think marrying pizza face boy would get him the job.

It's just talk. Jerry will die as the GM.
first off true die as the man with the title, but hes not been the true GM here for at least 5 years or more..that will MCclay..ther are 3 -4 people under jerry handling the true GM responsibility's so the old narrative Jerry the gm is ruining things is ridiculous..hands on owner needs credit sure but he is not the GM..he likes the title but the facts are hes given up most of what true GM does a long time ago..

Didn’t Troy show up at Irvin’s trial and give him a big hug? Is this the same Troy who witnessed Irvin partying to the max but was ok as long as he produced? Or, is this the Troy who had no idea what Irvin was doing off the field?

Culture? They won, so the culture had to be good. No, they won because the team was so talented.

What exactly did Troy win without Jimmy? Will Troy be bringing back Jimmy as coach?
