It was evident last year that he was our best pass rusher while on the field and he they wouldn’t play him. That’s why they are on unemployment now.

Randy for a smaller, quick pass rusher also plays the run pretty well too

He's pretty good on backside pursuit. I need to see more of him on straight-up run defense because we've mainly had him off the field on run downs, using him more in pass rush situations.

I’m hoping he gets 60% of the snaps this year
We wasted opportunities with him last year

Randy Gregory is a monster against anyone not named Tyron Smith at this training camp. Just saying. I can't wait to see what he does to Tampa Bay.

Completely agree but I see no way he is going to do that. This next contract is basically his life rolled up into one big contract. Plus he feels like the Cowboys coaches screwed him big time last year.

Yeah he knows who screwed him over. But I don't think it was Jerry. He knows without the help of the Cowboys and Jerry he wouldn't be in the position that he is in now. It's up to him to sign for big bucks or not. I think he will. One that pays him well and yet is team friendly enough to not break the bank.

A lot of money is still a lot of money. It's still more than he will ever make in his lifetime, whether he stays in Dallas or goes on to greener pastures.

But I still don't see the benefit to Gregory. If he goes off this year, he can shop his services around the league. Why would he accept a team friendly that isn't going to pay him market value? Especially when he is already behind as far as getting a second contract.

He doesn't have to stay in Dallas. He can go and see what his worth in the market. Or he can just sign for a little bit less. I guess the question is loyalty. Sometimes playing for less money with an organization that helped you get to where you are may be worth more than signing with a crappy team - like Cleveland or the Eagles. It's up to Gregory.

But I would at least attempt to sign him. Don't wait until the player has all the leverage - like they did with Dak.

I expect it to be at least 70 percent. He and Lawrence will probably split snaps at DPR/LEO with Basham in the 3-4 looks and be the primary pass rushers in the nickel. Basham and Anae might steal some snaps there and Parsons might get some too., but I wouldn't expect us to take Lawrence and Gregory off the field much in nickel looks. Hopefully, Quinn doesn't play the rotation game where he puts inferior ends out there together or at crucial times.

Not to be facetious but who the heck else do we have that scares QBs? "Featured pass rusher on the Dallas Cowboys" hasn't exactly meant much the past few seasons.

Why would he sign a team friendly deal? Would you? The NFL has completely screwed him over and I am sure he wants to get paid. If goes for 12 sacks the guy will want big money and I dont blame him.

We need to just lock him up now with a team friendly contract. Regardless of Probowler or now, he is our best passrusher by far and it would be a travesty to just let him go to the highest bidder.

They already messed up with Dak's contract, don't mess this up by not signing up to a team friendly deal.

I was surprised that they made no move on extending Gregory this offseason. That was the time to get a good deal. With all the praise he's getting in camp, the price has gone up already.

I like keeping guys fresh and quick
That’s why I said 60%
But the main point is he needs to play much more than he has in the past

One thing I will say about Gregory that people don't discuss is just how intelligent he is. Many don't realize that he is by all measures one of the smartest if not THE smartest guys on our team. All one has to do is listen to him speak to realize how well spoken he really is. We also don't know how well the man can play without the league looking over his shoulder 24/7! Can you imagine how good he might be playing a full season with the right amount of medication that he needs to stay focused?

If you look at his abilities and his intelligence it's easy to see why he could of been one of the top rated players in the draft and as you said, better than Dlaw.

Do we really care how 'well spoken' is Randy Gregory? Or how 'intelligent' is Randy Gregory? I rank that right up there with questions like ' how sensitive is Randy Gregory?' I don't give a hang for these considertions.

HULK CRUSH! HULK KILL!

This is is about the only character aspect I want to see from Randy Gregory. Keep the rest.

ON a personal note, this would be cool for him to bust out and become that guy. I got to share food and drinks with him while watching a couple college football games.... I think it was about 3 years ago now. Im not talking a huge gathering, there was like 7 of us at a table and he was sitting right across from me the whole time. He was damn cool after about 2 hours. I actually gave him a little crap being a big fan. When he left, we did the bro hand shake and hug and he leaned in and said, "Ill be back." He was really nice to us. Maybe its because my daughter bought him a couple shots...lol

I think you missed my point- Randy Gregory has gotten lots of negative press on these forums and rightfully so, but many forum goers don't realize just how bright the guy really is. Intelligence is a helpful trait in this game, especially when it's coupled with talent. I've hammered this point in the past and I think it deserves mentioning, we're all looking for negatives so much that we fail to see where there are positives, and with Randy there are some big positives that some don't even know exist.
