If the NFL is such a “business “…this shouldn’t be a hard decision. You get beat by the sled 3 times, you can’t physically do your job.

IMO the only thing keeping him here is the guaranteed salary for this year. That and well the dead cap that will be added from his signing bonus.

I doubt Quinn honestly thinks this guy is a + out there. Just sort of forced to have him due to Jerry and the cap consequences of cutting him .

I can’t believe he’s still here.

Well, Jerry gave him that stupid contract as a way to publicly pat himself on the back for believing in Jaylon. We finally have an out after this season. Barring a stunning turnaround in the quality of his play, this should be his last year in Dallas.

His hand placement is too high, that’s why he’s struggling with leverage. Watch where his hands strike compared to everyone else. You can even see the coach tell him about it in the video. It’s just shocking that this isn’t instinctive for him at this point.
I think he hits it up high, right in the 'arms', because he is trying to use leverage instead of power. Everyone else hits it in the body and drives up. Jaylon tries to lever it over from the top, like you would try and push a fence post over.

This lines right up with what we saw on the field last season, I don't see how you can put this guy on the field for regular snaps.

The drafting of Micah Parsons is pretty much the end of Jaylon Smith in Dallas.

May be sad, but I agree, HE NEEDS TO GO IF any of the staff cares about the TEAM.
He's Jerry's boy and he ain't going nowhere.
Don't be surprised if Jerry gives him a bonus payout after the season!

this is the crap from fans that kill me. Pretending that hindsight isn’t 20-20 and y’all knew all along not to sign him. Jaylon played like an animal possessed in 2018 made the probowl and everything and it seemed like our linebackers were set for the next 8 years. There was zero indication he was just gonna fall off a cliff, that’s why Jerry gave him an extension

he was a pro bowl alternate because someone backed out. Still no reason at all at that point for a long term contract. Pro bowl is an individual achievement and a POS game that falsely inflates the value of these players. This is a perfect example of it. Jerry’s a buffoon.

Not necessarily. Jerry loves Jaylon and we need depth at LB. But, his contract never made any sense and there is a huge cap incentive to cut him next offseason. If Dallas were so intent on getting rid of him b/c they drafted Parsons, Jaylon would be long gone by now.

How could Captain Comeback be anyone's most hated Cowboy of all-time...unless they weren't a Cowboys fan?

Jerry says he wants to win but yet will continue with sentimental decisions like this one. Another part of the problem. Jerry is still looking for the fairy tale ending here.
