I can't believe how poor his technique at the point of attack is.....on a dummy! Well, that explains the ten yards downfield tackling machine.

I totally agree. It’s technique not the leg. He does that stupid stutter step and flails around just before the point of attack. The guy is all about being some kinetic machine. The reality is his technique and fundamentals suck.

Well apparently the owner watches the film.

Maybe if you did the same you would see how much of an asset Smith is.

film sessions sponsored by Johhnie Walker.

Jaylon is only using his arm strength to try and push it. Watch the second video. Everyone else uses leverage from their feet and their entire body to relatively easily push it back. I'm not a Jaylon fan but I actually feel bad for him here. Its an obvious weakness where he can't plant and push off his feet

He is just refusing to lay into it. He doesnt want to do anything more than push it with his arms. He needs to retire and stick to sunglass sales.

Its the leg man. Look he did as best as he could with nerve damage. He just cant generate the power off that foot its noticible in the videos

He sucks. He just doesnt have the heart. He is refusing to be physical just trying to get by with a little arm push.

Knowing who they passed up hurts even more:

Jaylon Smith selected 34th overall by Dallas

DT Chris Jones selected 37th overall by KC
CB Xavien Howard selected 38th overall by Miami
HB Derrick Henry selected 43rd overall by Tenn (Dallas already picked Zeke at #4 which was a mistake)
WR Michael Thomas selected 47th overall by NO
LB Deoin Jones selected 52nd overall by Atlanta
OG Cody Whitehair selected 56th overall by Chicago

this makes me so angry, this is on Jerry and his dumb ego.

The stutter step is not for optics. He knows he can't plant hard and drive it into the ground. So he lifts up to get on the other foot.
I'm a gimp too...I recognize this necessary maneuver when I see it.

Lol... upper body strength.
It's the leg dude!

It's gone, it's toast. He has upper body, but no explosion from his base.

What tha...

Im sure its some leg, but its his upper body strength. You can see quite clearly in the 2nd one that is lightly pushing on the top of the by the head and isnt laying into it. He is a joke. The guy needs to be cut yesterday.

watching 9 hit the sled just looks wrong. i’ll never get used to the LBs having low numbers
That’s because he looks just like Tony would’ve done it had QB’s hit the sled. Loved the pick based on Cooper’s prognosis but loathe it now. He’s pathetic and you know the others were like “***???” watching him. Sad.

he was a pro bowl alternate because someone backed out. Still no reason at all at that point for a long term contract. Pro bowl is an individual achievement and a POS game that falsely inflates the value of these players. This is a perfect example of it. Jerry’s a buffoon.

gtfoh. You can pretend with your revisionist history if you want to, but everybody was singing Jaylons praises after the 2018 season. Calling Jerry a buffoon for what was considered a good move at the time shows that you actually are the buffoon.

He's not tradeable. The guy shouldn't be in the league. Which is just the harsh reality of having to play on one leg.

Giving him a 2nd contract is one of the most damning pieces of evidence that this front office, including Will McClay, doesn't have the slightest clue of what they're doing.

And after one hit he stumbled going around the sled.

Hopefully Parsons can push him to the bench, for sure Smith wouldn't be able to stop Parsons from doing that if he can't even defeat a sled.

And by the way, nice of the coaches to re-position the sled for a re-hit, I'm sure opposing players will be glad to re-position themselves directly in front of Smith so that he can hit them square on.

You gotta feel for the young man as it's evident his injury pretty much ended his career.
31 million bucks rich?? NAAAA I do NOT feel for anyone who's got 31 million bucks and will never have to work again. A lot of us have physical problems as bad or worse and we haven't got his 31 mil. NO WAY do I feel sorry for him in any way shape or form and I think it's insane to imply we should!

lol a new contract after 2 seasons of play. Not very smart at all. How can it be considered a good move when it's just so ridiculous today? It was terrible. That's not revisionist. He should've never been drafted!
