Guys please there is nothing wrong with his legs. He is attacking the sled with his arms extended. The other come in almost head first arms bent and push through the sled. His legs are fine. His technique is terrible.

On a brighter note Parsons is huge!!!
I lean towards your POV. Leg wasn't an issue on the second attempt. It's a lack of focus, aggression, and technique. I'm starting to wonder about this guy's commitment to the game.

Look closely. First attempt he comes in with his arms extended. Back straight. His feet don’t matter because he can’t extend with his arms in that position. Second attempt the arms are back and fired through. It works. He still flops around way too much. He looks like a clown. The others approach it without all the extra movement and lead with their helmets then extend the arms. His legs are 100 pct fine. His issue is between the ears.

What a shame. I feel sorry for him. Regardless if it's the leg or lack of overall strength, he just can't cut it in the NFL IMHO.
On a more positive note, did ya'll notice #42, our new LB/S hybrid K Neal hitting that thing, boom w/ power

I know. The S has more pop than the 60 million dollar man. I also live the size of Parsons. Guy is huge.

Why does Jaylon always look down at the ground when he starts running? Who does that?

And for the record there is absolutely no excuse in the world for your mega contract MLB to not be able to beat a sled like that. The fact that some people are trying to explain this away is insane IMHO. He should be able to destroy that sled. He can not. I do not care what the reason is. The fact remains he can not do it. Beyond pathetic.

With the bad technique, lack of upper body strength, Jaylon looked to be the only one having trouble with that sled.
Lower body strength to be precise , by anchoring the leg and using the thrust, I think

He lead the worst defense in cowboys history in tackles and didn't rank in the top 50 at his position. So much for that tackles stat.
Are you suggesting that his inability to negotiate the sled as a reason why he didn't triple the tackles of his inferior teamates?

Help me understand.

Thank you.

This guy needs to go. If our starting LB cant even do a drill 90 percent of highschoolers can do he needs to go.

That was embarrassing.

Tackling is the LB's #1 priority. Looks like he did ok to me. Yeah , our defense was garbage but I'm not sure it was all due to him.

At this point he can't be here because he is "good" at football. He's Jerry/Stephen's pet feel good story. It's lame.

Lol... upper body strength.
It's the leg dude!

It's gone, it's toast. He has upper body, but no explosion from his base.

What tha...
That’s a good observation. It’s pretty clear that he is impaired relative to the other linebackers. Even when he gets the sled extended upward you can tell he is REALLY struggling.

What I find really odd is the Cowboys had to have known about this deficiency (or at least should have known). How do you give him his last contract if the loss of strength in the lower body is that evident?

If the loss of strength is from the leg injury, someone really blew it on that last contract.

As you can see from the list, defenses are designed for LBs to be making most of the tackles. Now the problem is most of Smith's tackles seem to be 5+ yards or more downfield. He gets himself out of gaps and out of position and then has to run them down with his blazing speed and athleticism. He is one tough hombre. oh well, his days are numbered here.

I think the sled looks very mean and tough and hard, and probably hurts to hit it...just not worth the pain fo a measely 30 million bucks. :muttley: and it's "only" practice.
