Are you suggesting that his inability to negotiate the sled as a reason why he didn't triple the tackles of his inferior teamates?

Help me understand.

Thank you.

He had 5 tackles for loss. He sucks at reading plays and has terrible instincts often taking poor angles. Again, he didn't rank in the top 50 at his position. The tackles stat is meaningless and has more to do with health in his case.

LVE and Smith both put on notice by the overdrafting of the linebacker position in this draft. Cox has Kevin Burnett written on him too so he could well be a starter sooner rather than later. Put up or shut up time for the 2018 tandem of so-far disappointing stars.

You guys wanna know where that insane spin move we saw last year comes from? It comes from stuff like this. He knows he is useless and doesn't even try to take on blocks so he does insane stuff like that spin move. Pathetic.

So you think he does....all that...because of "bad technique ". Does not make any sense.

Now...what does make sense...is he does all that hiding a devastating injury....the cowboys must also hide to save face...like you know Jerry does.

Come on dude.....you bad technique thing is way worse an excuse than horrifying injury.

Where was this supposed handicap in 2018? Even the first few games in 2019? Have you noticed the slide started post the contract? Why is that? So after almost 2 seasons of ineptitude we chalk it up to injury? I thought guys sit out when they are injured.

They just drafted Parsons and Cox, were apparently shopping Jaylon at the draft, and his cap hit makes sense if we cut him after this year. Let's not act like the cowboys don't know he's an issue.

If he played like he did last year in 2018, no way they extend him. But they did, and I'm sure they've regretted since. With Lee and LVE being just as injury prone, they've been unable to take him off the field.

Yawn...

Do any of you remember what he looked like when he first came back? It was beyond terrible but he was allowed to just play through it because he was Jerrys pet project. The special treatment continues to this day. Unbelievable. So sick of this clown.

Okay disagree...I don't care what you refuse to see. Like I said...you don't have to use this goofy sled drill. Look at "highlights". He won't plant and drive. The one time he jumped to block a pass he wouldn't land on it.

You don't understand the ridiculous notion that they wouldn't keep him hurt but...would...with "terrible technique".
A stud college lber, and a starting NFL lber for the Dallas cowboys....has bad technique?

come on man. Just come on.

If that stutter step and keeping his arms fully extended before hitting isn't bad technique I don't know what the hell else to call it.

Maybe your both right. It could be bad technique born out of a necessity to compensate for an injury that never healed.

That is exactly what I am saying. Of COURSE it's "bad technique".

But it isn't coaching or suddenly forgetting how to be a bad ax linebacker.

Didn't he wear a boot for awhile?

And no....guys don't sit out when injured. Did Romo? Emmitt?

You are really reaching now.

Do NFL teams hire linebackers that have "bad technique"?

Do they train "bad technique"? Since when?

As I said above....we agree this is indeed "bad technique". But why? Because he was taught that? How come the other linebackers aren't doing it?

It's not an injury per se.....it's an injury that never healed properly to NFL standards. Jaylon is compensating for it. Quite well really for a normal human...but not for NFL linebacking.

LVE was a risk only because of the neck injury he had even in the draft. Unlike Smith whose ability to diagnose plays seems to be related to a lack of football instincts and not simply a question of injury, LVE had all the talent to be a really good LB.

Geez. Let’s see if he can get in better shape. It’s TC. If he sucks that bad then he will be replaced. We have a different DC.

I just watched it a couple times and noticed the same thing. It’s like he thinks the sled is a RB, not sure which way he is going.
He's trying to see which foot needs to be planted.

If he makes it up there with the wrong foot leading...he has to gimp it...er I mean juke.

People must not want to see it? Just watch both legs, and watch what he does with the injured one. It's really not that difficult to see he favors that leg. Fairy dust won't tell you it's not happening! lol

I believe there is room for improvement though. Perhaps he's regressed and gone back to some bad habits over time. Or, maybe he had a set back we weren't told about. Whatever he was doing in 2018 was working. Despite another injury set back I can't logically explain why he has regressed so much from that point. Although coaching and scheme could be huge factors.

The guy hitting that sled looks done, both physically and mentally done.
