Put Benjamin on our 4x4 team so he can bring home a gold medal. We have no competition there. He is a sub 44.00 relayer.

Here he and Michael Norman (on the team) are breaking the NCAA 4x4 record while at USC.

Sure looks like fun to me....

https://www.runnerspace.com/video.php?video_id=74492

For years high schools from Jamaica ruled the Penn Relays especially the 4x4 relay. In 2007 Long Beach Poly had a great team. so they head East to battle the Jamaicans. Bryson Nellum the top 400m HS sprinter in the nation their anchor man. Saint Jago will have Yohan Blake the worlds top HS 100/200 cat on anchor.

I personally like track bc I ran in high school. But, doping has hurt track, cycling, and even baseball never recovered from the BALCO scandal. I also think a sport where the most exciting events are dominated by Jamaica isn't hugely appealing to the viewing public. If Usain Bolt was American, track would have been front and center year round. I remember the 1984 Olympics in LA and Carl Lewis was the most popular and celebrated athlete in the US. He ruled the 80's.

Track does great there are sites out there with more posters than this place has and posters like myself who know the sport. Not sure where you are getting the doom and gloom at. Track is doing great, Most of us track geeks aren't all that wrapped up in are they clean, nobody really cares to be blunt. All these athletes have been at their craft a long time and without training nothing can help them.

Last night we saw histories first sub 46.00 400hh, talk about an exciting moment in the sport, a total...wow!

Now will Grant Holloway become the first sub 12.80 110hher? Very exciting sport!

45.94

I'm sure track is very popular among those who care. But it is not nearly as popular as it used to be.

What are you judging that belief on, been a fan a long time and haven't seen any decline in anything, so......???

Track has never been a par with fiootball/baseball/basketball, but it doesn't have to be.

TV ratings. I'm beginning to think you don't really follow track and field. Viewership in this country has been declining for decades.

Who is talking just the USA? And you are ignoring high school and NCAA track. Trust me the rest of the world is catching up and more interest than ever.

I used to moderate Sub10 the most important track site out there, yep, into track to the point of an historian.

North Carolina A&T is one of those HBCU schools, how they came in third in the recent NCAA is amazing.

This just doesn't happen...

I think I can tell which long jumpers have been circumcised and which haven’t. Since when did Track and Field become borderline NSFW?

Looking at the world list she is nowhere to be found, injury? Just coming back?

Do expect Harrison to win the gold.

Both the mens/womens 400 hurdles THE must see. With the temp what it is great shot at a WR in both.
Not near top ten but she is top ten physically, a little older but super fit...

Like I mentioned another world record in the ladies 400hurdles.

Will Grant Holloway become histories first sub 12.80 110hh hurdler?

Will Andre DeGrasse who kept Tyreek Hill as the number two JC sprinter back in the day win the 200m?

And like Benjamin I run McClauglin on our 4x4 team.

When Tyreek Hill was running JC track that guy was the only JC sprinter who could beat him now look at him an Olympic gold medalist.

Kenny Bednarek who won the bronze just a JC guy, while bronze medalist Noah Lyles went straight from high school to pro track, 4th placer Knighton did the same thing, he's just a kid.

Andre DeGrasse the USC 100m school record holder, the Canadian 200m record holder.

Then there was this way back in 1966,....

He grew up in Lemoore saw him in high school, freak of nature,

Talk about a shocker we saw that in the 100m when an Italian won the gold that was a first.

Now this in the 4x1 relay...

Putting their fastest man on that second leg is always smart, get him the baton early in the zone then hand off late.

Tortu looked like Bob Hayes in 64, wow!

Where was the USA? We ran some alternates and it back fired, we didn't even make the finals, sheesh!

In 1960 we ran the Tennessee State ladies team, yep, won gold!

In 1932 we brought 4 guys in to just run the 4x1, yep, won gold. The USA could do with our depth.

Props to Allyson Felix, she won a bronze in the 400 and will win a gold if she runs the 4x4. Nobody has won more Olympic medals.

The race....

If she does run the 4x4 relay she will become the most decorated of all Olympians, 1 more medal than Carl Lewis.

Finally things got back to normal as both the men and women 4x4 teams totally destroyed the rest of the world in the 4x4 relays.

And we could have ran 4 others and won the silver, we have that kind of depth at 400m.

Ladies 4x4

Men 4x4

USC could run Benjamin and Norman, Olympic champ Quincy Watts and 43.5 man Jerome Davis in a 4x4, no other country stands a chance.
