Who will have better stats, Jarwin or Schultz?

And yet, when the 1s were out there in preseason it was Jarwin starting and not Schultz. Sorry, but at the end of the day, you need to produce. When Schultz goes contract shopping at the end of the year, he's not going to be selling his blocking skills for the most part, it'll mostly be about what he's produced and that's what'll get him his money. And while he was a great surprise last season, whatever he averages, Jarwin averages better. If Jarwin can't stay healthy then it's great to have Schultz with a little drop-off. But when your future with the team is dependent on another guy's health, you're NOT the guy.

It's great to have both and you no doubt work them each into the system for production. Plus, you can ease up on Jarwin's snaps if you want. But if you want to attack a defense, Jarwin is your man and it's not close. Small sample size in preseason but Schultz caught 2 balls for 26 yards. Jarwin caught 1 for 25. When your tight end can gain you a quarter of a football field in one clip, you load that weapon more times than not. Case closed.

well you need both really unless you have a do it all TE thats dynamic

Goddard and ertz is like shultz and Jarwin albeit not as dynamic etc

lets not undersell shultz being solid in all facets because of his average ..you know who # 82 was more like Shultz and his gold jacket will await..

shultz as better blocker would start or be in a few more snaps and let jarwin comes in for splash plays.

having both is optimal no need to choose..

Dalton and Schultz might be more dynamic, but it could go either way. The cowboys have so many top notch weapons that the TE's might be a very dangerous open weapon that is going against a subpar defender. Or they might not be used any where near the amount other teams will throw to their TE's

Shultz actually started and played te for a year. Jarwin took the defense by surprise as the 7 option no one was expecting. I like Jarwin speed, but that’s it. Many of you only look at receiving in a te. It’s only half the job.

But Jarwin is great at limping off after a 20 yard catch.

Jarwin took the defense by surprise? LOL. Thanks for confirming you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Again, when the 1s were out there, Jarwin was with them so I think we know what the coaches think. No way around it. Both guys should be good contributors and it's a good problem to have. Yet, you're taking your whooping here so personally that you've turned to insulting Jarwin to try to prop up Schultz. Only people with the short end of the stick have to resort to that nonsense. Great to see you're a fan of the players though.

he didn’t take anyone by surprise when he got hurt again.

Shultz can block, is reliable, and played all 16 games and caught 63 passes for 600 yards and 4 tds. Let me know when your passing gimmic makes it past 5 games.

until then you don’t even have an argument. This one was over before it started.

if jarwin can ever play a full season he would be a nice receiving weapon. We still need someone to block.

Again, the argument is that coaches agree with me in having Jarwin out there with the starters. No way around that, chump. So you can trash Jarwin all you want but as I said, if your status as a starter depends on the health of another guy, then you're NOT the guy. Schultz is an excellent complementary piece with ability but Jarwin is the lead. I don't have to trash Schultz to prop up Jarwin. I want them both to shine. Jarwin gives you more though, so playing time should reflect that. Seems it will. Too bad you're troubled by that but toughen up, sunshine, because it's reality.

The argument is who will have better stats. Not who the coaches are picking as #1 on the depth chart. Jarwin was #1 before this thread even started. But I think we both know that they have to name someone and I wouldnt be surprised if both guys get around the same opportunity.

Now if I had to pick 1 TE for my team, then Im taking Shultz. Just a more dependable, better all around TE.

Now if you told me both guys play all 16 game who would have the better passing numbers, I would take Jarwin. But you can't guarantee that.

Jarwin is a glorified WR. For my money, if I need a TE, give me Shultz. Jarwin will be able to do his thing because we have a REAL TE in Shultz capable doing the dirty work of a TE.

Cowboys were the chumps for giving a chump like Jarwin the money. And now you look like a chump betting in him staying healthy.

Lol. So now Schultz is gonna MAKE Jarwin. Did he do so in that great game Jarwin had a few years back? The one you claimed skewed Jarwin's stats to the tune of a 2-yard average advantage even with 51 more catches beyond those 8? Hey, at least you now admit that even if things were equal, Jarwin would excel. Baby steps.

LOL............................"that one game a few years back"

I rest my case!!!

"Bububububububut he averages 2 more yards per catch" :lmao2::lmao2:

Jarwins best year : 31 catches 365 yards 11.8 3 TD's

Shultz best year: 63 catches 615 yards 9.8 4 TD's

Looks like you lose buddy. No wonder you are bragging about YPC............Its all you got!!

Jarwin. But I like Schultz, he gets those tough yards after a catch. Hard to bring down . Wouldn’t be surprised if we see alot from both of them Thursday night

If given equal chances, Schultz will have more receptions.

I'm a bigger fan of Schultz. Neither of them are world beaters, but I trust Schultz on the field more. Jarwin is fine, but he's fast and tall, don't know that he is really a technician of his position.
