Totally agree with this at face value.

But in interacting with AsthmaField, I've found he does possess a genuine level of humility over the other guys that pretend to be know it all field experts here. Not saying he is one of those.

Internal bias along with subjectivity is only natural to be expected on a specific team's message board imo.

But with that said, Ive learned through experience not to mention too often that the other team has good players and coaches too.

Lotsa disrespect comes when ya do that too often, lol.

The other team has good players?

Lol, Tampa is very good and if I had a lot of money to bet… it would probably be on them. Particularly if the point spread isn’t taken into consideration.

There's been some very strange responses in this thread. I'm starting to wonder about reading ability.
Haha… to be fair it was a crazy long post.

That’s why I said it wasn’t for everyone. However, I didn’t expect those who didn’t read it to try to discuss it and say it was wrong.

Like I said, you do possess the ability to be objective although of course, your slant is gonna be pro Dallas along with your personal opinions.

I'm kinda emphasizing how others kinda miss the whole 'the other team are paid professionals as well part.'

And to speak positively towards the opponent, because this is a Dallas board, is highly frowned upon.

I get it, trust me.

But then the opinion regulators and fanhood questioners follow if you slip up and compliment an opponent and Pandora's box is opened.

It is entertaining.

I hear you, and I don’t disagree.

Speaking for myself, there is a way to compliment the other team and to say Dallas will probably lose (like I did above)… but guys who are always complimenting the other team and constantly saying how terrible the Cowboys are… those are the one’s that I don’t get. I don’t understand how you can be a fan of this team and hate them at the same time.

But different strokes for different folks, as they say.

I will say that I understand the frustration that some fans feel and understand not really loving Jerry as the GM. But there are things about this team that are’t worthy of being made fun of. There are some good players here and McCarthy’s performance here needs to be judged by his results this year.

Anyway, I’ve never had a difficult time in giving other teams credit for their good play or their good players.

I read every word.

I mean maybe I'm just not as smart as the average bear or maybe my opinion is not as widely accepted.

Hmmmm...

Oh well, either way, Cowboys!

Yeah, if someone reads it and doesn’t see it the same way I do… that is fine and I have zero problems with that. I’m not one to think that I can’t be wrong in my opinion. Lord knows, I’ve been wrong before.

Understood. How some fans patience level of waiting on this team to return to any semblance of consistent playoff contenders versus how others perceive it.

Some await in an exasperated, fed up, when will things ever change way YET are still fans.

While other more positive spirited fans point out perceived yearly improvements that may or may not result in post season success and are fans just as equally.

Nature of the Beast.

Neither right nor wrong imo.

I am compleyely relaxed for this game. It is a freebie. It wont serve as an indicator for the season if we lose. Tampa were going to win regardless of who they faced in the opener. That is just how this game usually works. Our season starts next week. Let's not get too down if it doesn't go as hoped. What I want to see from this team is the right attitude. I want to see why we should expect this season to be different. That is all I hope to get out of the game. Have we learned anything?

Don’t get one or two people to let you down. Most of the fans here are very objective. I’ve been a fan for 60 years. I can see the good And bad. It’s OK to critique. It’s just not OK to consistently put the team down. That’s an agenda. You’ll realize who’s who the more time you spend here

come on apparently you dont watch the TB games or listen to their pros and cons..they were by far the best Run stopping defense last year at 80YPG allowed..no one runs on them and they obviously go into every game with stop the run at all coasts and allow qb to have a shot..not any different because its dak and not mahomes..thats silly but it for sure their game plan as it was all last year and the fact that they know zeke/pollard are threats....

however if they choose to OVERplay the run and leave our 3 wrs one on one al game Dak will shred them..we have 3 weapons' at WR plus two capable TEs..i hope they do that very thing and bring extra guys in the box.I know zeke is ready to have great season but this is the wrong team to use as measuring stick, they will try hard to take away the run..

TB run stopping strength is up the middle. Cowboys should have ability to threaten the edges, especially if they can gameplan to neutralize Lavonte David.

But no matter what, Cowboys need to remain balanced and stick with run because I would hate to see Cowboys become one dimensional and let that TB defense tee up on Dak, who is still not 100%.

i'm sure the Game plan and scheme had some effect on the game but iMO this is an opinion i dont agree with, period end of story.

first off it wasnt just 2 OT out Mahomes had a bad toe he had to have surgery on .

so making him run seemingly with less then 2 secs form the snap on bad toe was more the reason he looked less then himself..if PM had 1more sec and allowed to set his feet he would get the ball to his stars..seriously qb on bad foot with no time to throw and had record set for most scramble yards in a game behind the LOS..he was running for his life on bad foot..get his OT back and i'm betting its different game, sure TB may still have won but KC would have looked a lot better.

odd it didn't matter, yet KC went and rebuilt their entire OL, why would a SB team do this, because it matters and mattered...

reid and mahomes are equally and creative in beating schemes..they werent healthy and it showed..
I am sure it was combination of things, including the bad toe and missing two OT, which further more speaks to the defensive game plan and pushing them to pass, knowing pass pressure will get to him, where Andy should have stuck to running more, knowing that he is missing to two OTs, and that his QB has a bad toe....

but KC did run for over a 100 yards, including 75 from their RBs....they did that with only 17 attempts....vs. 49 pass attempts

I can tell you, sidenote, that Chiefs fans here in KC don't sound too confident in their ability to run the ball. They've said several times that is not their strength. Theirs is mainly air it out and the runs are usually with Mahomes.

I don't disagree. they use the pass to set up the run. but 17 runs is 25%.....some would say that was because of the 4th quarter...but in first half they only ran it 9 times out of 31 plays....that's 29%...and some of those run plays was mahomes scrambling. they rushed with their RBs only 6 times......so they did get away from the run...and given they had problem pass protecting, perhaps a little more running, first to shorten the game and second to help mahomes might have been better for them. plus, when they saw how they were being defended with 6 instead of 7 in the box, perhaps that would have given them an advantage......

Truer words haven't been spoken in here in a long time.

I usually get time off from Admin “Reality”........he could get a day job as one of the “Truthers” at any of the various social media sites.......he knows, that I know, what he’s all about.....but he’s a Cowboys fan and we at least have that in common

They are really good. But I doubt they are as locked in Week 1 as they were during their playoff run. Still will be the most talented group we face all season...
