Team needs to learn how to win, same things hamper them

Another entertaining Cowboy game, with similar results, lose another close football game. When you look at the reasons why they lost, many of the same things that hurt this team in the past:

-Inability to execute in the red zone. This alone could of been the difference in the outcome. Have to score TD's, rather then FG's, especially against an elite team. I recall 2 plays, the miss block with Jarwin and Dak missing Wilson over the middle.

-Special Teams-I was worried about our kicker during the week and unfortunately he struggled, although he made the most important kick of the night. They lost by 2 points, missed a easy FG and an extra point. Kickoff return units were dreadful. Bucs won the ST battle by a far margin.

-Self-induced penalties/mistakes-last drive alone had two huge holding penalties. CeeDee caused an interception with a ball he should of caught that ultimately led to a TD. Another one stalled a drive.

All this is correctable, but until they improve upon these areas, they will continue to fall short in these close football games. They need to learn how to win. A lot of positives last night, but there are no moral victories in this league.

too many missed opportunities.
red zone failures.
couldn't close out the game defensively.
if we wanna advance in the post-season...gotta be better.

There wasn't a moment in that game that I expected them to do anything but lose.

This is who they are.

You are absolutely right, they need to learn how to win. This team still makes too many mistakes! Too many bad plays! It’s maddening!

This is my take. The red zone continues to kill us. Too many mistakes to beat the good teams. Dak marches the team up and down the field with ease........then we get inside the 20 and it all goes to hell. Reminds me of the Romo years.

Inability to finish drives has killed this team for several years, this includes our inconsistent kicking game.

It’s been like this for a 1/4 century when Jerry took over for jimmy. No discipline, attention to detail or accountability.

Interesting you mention Romo ("Glass Joe") because when Romo cost us games, it was always someone that fans blamed. Now that we have an upgrade over Romo with Dak, Dak is blamed for everything. Dak would hold the Cowboys single season passing record but Jerry and Garrett refused to call any more passing plays late in the final reg season game because they didn't want Romo's record to be broken. Soooo much love for Romo (2 wild card wins in ten years) and sooooo little love for Dak. It bogles the mind. NFL sportswriters routinely list Dak as a top 7 QB.
