Dan Quinn had an awful draft day and even worse Game 1

Some of the critical plays over the middle were on Parsons last night let’s just keep it real.

He played his rear off but the coverage was really bad a few times.

Don't deny that. But, Brown is still getting a pass , again, it appears. The guy is trash and has been.

Here is an example of bad coverage by him with the limited tools I have.

That was the main that stood out with Parsons. But, Lewis light footing while Godwin in motion doesn't help. That play , with the speed of Godwin and Brady's release, I hope that play comes up again in future Tampa games because I wanna see another teams 3rd average DB stop that. In time Parsons will see that...

Course, not surprised with this thread in here. I must've been watching another game. LOL..

When JJ traded up for Frederick at Center- he was roasted , lambasted - laughed at.
We had a massive need at the most important spot.
He was on his way to the Ring of Honor.

We had a massive need a CB this year - 400 points against - the most 20 yard + tds against
Dan Quinn zeroed in on a LB with two stud corners in getting distance.
If we wanted a CB you pay up and get your guy .

Quinn went BPA and got himself a guy that bites harder than jaylon smith on run fake.

Anthony Brown handed over all of Daks hard work over n over like he was handing out Baby Ruth’s on Halloween.

We needed a CB

We gave up the field on the winning drive - we needed a CB

Tom Brady’s uniform didn’t have a smudge on it .
No sacks

zero blitz on the goal line ? V the goat ??

asinine stuff

I see why he blew that Super Bowl

Parsons - I’m not impressed
Joseph - looks a bust
Golston - camp body
Wright - worst reach of draft
OSA - potential plugger tho small .

That’s a D draft folks

Tampa barely had the ball and they put massive numbers from a clean pocket .

Awful stuff

Dak’s performance masqueraded Quinn’s debacles.

I love how you emphasized cornerbacks. Good job.

This was the best our defense has looked in a long time. Not to mention people are grossly undervaluing how good Tampa's offense is.

The deal is Lewis is the only guy who can defend on the outside of the wideout breaks to the outside. He is supposed to have inside help and he knows it.

The coordinator who drew that up in theory think it’s covered.

Parsons hesitates just enough to open that window and Brady throws the TD.

That’s how high of a level these guys are playing and can exploit and subtle weakness.

First of all, it's not Dan Quinn's draft. Quinn doesn't have unfettered decision making authority. Sure he has input, but it's still Jerry's show with input from McCarthy, McClay, Stephen, the coordinators etc.

Second, it's nonsensical to judge Parsons like this after his very first NFL game. Did you really expect him to be All-Pro level from his first snap?

The biggest issue with Quinn is the same issue with Nolan why in the heck is Demarcus lawrence covering anything except the bad hairdo. Cover 0 with an easy read like that against the GOAT at QB and one of the best TEs of any ERA. Lawrence wouldn't be able to cover Gronk in a phone booth.

There's not much you can do in one draft to fix a defense that bad...especially when all of them are rookies playing their first game. In most drafts, we will be lucky if we get 3 players who end up sticking around long-term. So far it's looking like Parsons for sure and then we'll see what happens with the rest. Between Joseph and Wright, if ONE of them ends up being a player then I'll be happy but realistically, neither could amount to anything in the league. Osa and Cox showed flashes in the preseason but you're not going to get many game-changers in year 1 from mid-round picks.

I guess Rome was built in a day. The fact is, we could've traded up to get a corner, but you have to have a partner to trade with, and you give up that, and leave a massive hole at LB. Did you see it when LVE & Smith were in there together? Not pretty. So when your defense is trash, you have to build a defense and this takes a couple of years to do, at least.

He was a 3rd rounder taken round 1
That’s the fact - you can’t argue facts .it’s like arguing mathematics.
We filled a NEED

We passed on filling our NEED this draft .

You apparently don't know what facts are, I have doubts if you know what 'mathematics' is either.

Parsons isn’t remotely responsible for the defensive performance. That game was all about exploiting Brown and the slot corners. I thought Diggs was terrific.
People in this thread or misconstruing my point… Parsons may very well be a very good football player however it should be somewhere else we should’ve drafted a corner back number one with our first round pick not a linebacker.

The comparison to Frederick is very simple the need was just as big as it was then when we reached for Frederick.

We have a massive hole at CB . Massive

It’s so bad we may have to sign Sherman.
