Wonder if this has any reason to why we suddenly made cap room w/ Dak's contract.

Maybe looking at tackles available in FA that could step in:

1.Russell Okung - a walking injury, but maybe could step in for 5 games. He's been a LT, but I'm guessing he could make the switch.

2.Mitchell Schwartz - had back surgery in March and KC released him due to their cap. Supposedly close to 100% - really good RT if healthy.

It’s very possible
I’m sure the team has known for weeks if not months since I’ve read some of the missed tests were from last season

I don't think Martin ever refused to play RT. It's just that he's a Hall of Fame level guard and moving him out of that spot should only be done out of dire necessity.

I think either Steele or Nsekhe can fill in nicely for Collins. On a side note, from what I saw last night McGovern should replace Williams at LG and we'll be all set.

Yep, restructuring Dak and Elliott didn't make much sense at the time but I am sure the Cowboys knew all about Collins.

Not much savings on the cap for the 5 games Collins does not get paid. He only has a base salary of $1M. So, the Cowboys only save 5/17 of $1M. I hope Jerry can and does void the rest of his guaranteed money and cuts him.

Not going to win with selfish, foolish players like Collins. Better to just cut him and move on. Send a message.

It actually made a lot of sense. Assuming we roll over the money from Dak's & Zeke's contract into next year, it will take us from about 20m over the cap in 2022 to 15m over the cap. That means there's still work to do but it's a bit more manageable. That would put us in a position where we only need to restructure Dak and choose between either restructuring Martin or cutting J.Smith & Brown. I actually think we should do both.

In other words...no, we do not know it's true.

Not wanting to (or not preferring to) do something is not at all the same as "refusing" to do something altogether.
True, but this is coming from an insider. The media is all we've got at this point.

Sign Schwartz and cut Collins. I guarantee the contract allows the team to move on in situations like this

He didn't refuse anything.
He just would much prefer to stay where he is.
I must have put the person who posted on my newly found ignore list, from what I'm reading from the comments is that Martin refused to play Tackle? Or they are implying it?

Thank you in advance. I enjoy your opinions, they usually fall in line with mine.

I'd like to believe that the F/O had the foresight to actually do this numnuts.
