Michael Irvin used to tell the opposing team what route Alvin Harper was going to run before the play.
I don't think the opposing team believed him though. I bet Irvin was probably telling the truth many times. :)

I only remember him doing it on a 3rd and 3 against the Bucs. It was a run play TB stopped for no gain.

Didn't Dak always win against the eagles ...... I remember Risen always disappearing after those games

He disappears right after Dak throws his first TD pass in a game. Last nights game thread was no exception.

Guy is a joke, but somehow this community treats him as some kind of idol.

I'd never heard that. That's funny, actually. Once he breaks the huddle and is off on his own island with a corner, if he tells the dude what route Harper is about to run, I'm not sure what the guy could do with that info about what a receiver on the other side of the field is about to do.

Suppose the dude could start trying to signal his teammates further down the line about what Harper is gonna do, but that would be distracting and they'd risk Irvin getting the jump on them while they were busy with their signaling.

I actually watch for stuff like this. To be honest one of my favorite parts of this weeks game was that I was rarely right. The play calling was really sound even down to the audibles. They can improve, but I thought the offense did really well against an electrifying defense.

(EDIT: I can't recall the exact play, but I remember an audible that I was for sure was going to be a run, but it was play-action instead for a first down. I chuckled, and was impressed that they were actually fooling the defense for once.)

Larry Bird would tell the opposing players exactly what they were going to do and then said there nothing you can do about it. He once told a Hawks player the play coming out of a timeout for the last shot. Basically told him I am coming to the top of the key and bury the shot so just stand here at the top of the key.
He's one of the greatest ever, what does this have to do with anyone/team that's not the GOAT of their sport.

I can pretty much tell when a running play is called when I see the formation. If it’s obvious to me, I imagine it’s obvious to the opposing coaches.

This is funny considering the Eagles are the one divisional opponent we seem to run on even when they supposedly have super stout run defenses.

Former Eagles coach reveals supposed Dak Prescott tell

Ryan Paganetti

when #Cowboys Dak Prescott punches his fists together, he is telling the WRs that it is a run play and they can run block. He has been doing the same thing for multiple years (50+ times) and we always got a jump on it when I was with the #Eagles......#Buccaneers
Gotta put some Paganetti on the gameday menu

I was watching the game again, and he did the fist thing to wr lol and pollard was stuffed at los ! So this guy is right, and no wonder we cant run good anymore
every team knows when we are running.
It could be he does it when he changes from pass to run, I will check further.

But that isnt the only problem when pollard got stuffed by suh, the center let suh come free so he could go block a LB ! lol it is so funny.
What good does it do to not block suh and go block a LB if suh is going to get pollard at LOS?? Same thing for signaling the wr, totally unnecessary.
I see this all the time lol guy doesnt block a guy so he can block downfield, which is pointless if the rb is never going to get downfield.
