Missed taking a drug test.

Fisher said it wasn’t PED related.

We still don’t know why he’s getting a 5 game suspension as opposed to fined. So he likely has missed multiple test
5 games for missing a test? That can't be right. But then again, it's the Cowboys.

5 games for a missed test?! This league lol. Nothing for Watson from the NFL— but Zeke gets 6 games despite the NFL’s own investigator saying he was innocent lol

A first offense substance violation is 2 games according to their own rule!! How can he get 5 for missing tests?!

Something don’t add up and I truly hope JJ doesn’t take his pants down again for Goodell on this.

Does it make a difference? As of now, the League says he's done.
The point you are making is the only point that matters. Goodell is flexing his muscles again and it is no surprise that a Cowboys player is the victim of his flexing.

Meh, he was probably going to get injured anyway.

The organization must have known something was up and decided to roll with him anyway, a la Gregory and countless others, so this isn't about a curse, it's about bad personnel management, again. What a surprise.

It’s funny we’re not really hearing anything else about it. Has Jerry or Stephen said anything on it yet?

Maybe we get to hear from Jerry or Stephen about this. I'm hope they nail Goodell to the wall about this.
Nobody will hold Goodell accountable for this. Nobody held him accountable for suspending Zeke when his own investigation showed that the so-called victim was lying. The team owners have created a monster and they can’t control him. Goodell punished the Cowboys because Jerry questioned Zeke’s suspension. Goodell is one of the main reasons behind the sport losing popularity.

The owners employ him. The voted for him to be extended unanimously. They want him there because people will misguidedly blame him for everything the owners shove through the Competition Committee. No contact camps, extra games, rule changes, drug policies, etc. Those are all decided by the owners and Goodell is just the guy who has to put his face on it.

Exactly. The owners agreed to back this guy and give him absolute power. Jerry went against these owners when he tried to mess with Goodell’s contract renegotiation. It now appears like that was a huge mistake. The NFL is not “fair” in any way. Jerry went against a guy with strong backing from owners and near unlimited power and lost.

The NFLPA has also given Goodell incredible power via the CBA. You can appeal suspensions but it is a person working for Goodell that determines the outcome. Like I said the NFL is not a democracy and there is no justice. And Jerry has very little incentive to fight this because despite any unfair rulings by Goodell the Cowboys are still the most valuable franchise in the NFL.

We will continue to get unfair treatment for a while. This might change if Jerry sells the team or if Goodell retires.

Unbelievable! I am not sure if I am more mad at the system or La'el for being such a total ******* for missing/refusing to get tested. Absolutely ridiculous to get 5 games for refusing a test. Maybe 2 max, but 5? Argh! Double argh!!

GO COWBOYS!

He must be on the repeat offender program, a missed test or two or three is a suspension.
New rules state up to 5 missed test and it’s a fine only.

That’s why there is more to this than being said

So, I still see no one has figured out why the NFL aka Goodell has suspended him for 5 games as opposed to the rules laid out in their "chart". In fact, I don't even see 5 days mentioned anywhere in the NFL rules for substance abuse. How does one "arbitrarily" come up with the # of days? Do you think we will ever get this information? o_O

Even more frustrating. Inquiring minds want to know!

Based on the chart he should be on his 4th violation and should’ve already served a 3 game suspension. That also means he’s in the failed to cooperate bracket

I add the +1 game as the season added a game

It’s complete nonsense

It says 4 game suspension for a 5th violation, so he was on his 5th violation??
