Jerry Jones on Cowboys kicking woes: ‘We paid a price’

The hubris of this FO and coaching staff is infuriating. To think you could just roll out a kicker coming off back surgery without any training camp or preaseason, and not even bring in a kicker as a backup plan is mind-numbing.

Any fan with a brain could see this was going to be an issue but not this brain trust…

“I felt like we really paid the price of not having our kicker in training camp,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday morning on Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan. “I look back and when you don’t have a kicker that’s real active in training camp, you may be kidding yourself in early ball games is he really ready to go.“

And before any blowhard says “we didn’t lose the game because of the kicker…” Points matter. They change the context of the game. We took 4 gimme points off the board in a two-point loss.

One of the issues here is that dumb and dumber run the FO as a part time job. They were busy opening the Miller Lite House the week leading up to the game. They love the notion of running personnel without putting in the work.

additionally, Bones Fassel should be on notice. Good ST coach, but MM might trust him too much. Zuerlein and Mcquade, bad snap on one kick the other night, GZ made the kick, ole Bones is like teflon

Yep. When we missed that FG I told my wife we will lose by 3 or less. That FG will cost us the game.

Brady might be older, but I think he sees the field better than ever. Does anyone think he wouldn't have brought the Bucks back even if he makes the field goal? It was a great game, very competitive and hopefully, it shows things to come this year.

....huh yeah. You had a good kicker already. Why release him and think you got better? ..dope..

The 60 yard miss was pretty much a nothingburger, but we make the other one that was shorter than an extra point and we probably win the game.

Problem is Jerry has been catering to Coach Bones Fassell and his personal cat in Zuerlein. That has hurt the team. Jerry needs to bring back Lirim Hajrullahu and put Bones Fassell on notice.

He caters to coaches in terms of personnel because he's a fraud and doesn't know what he's doing nor does he have the interest to put in the work to do the job of GM. He just wants the title and the final say.

That special teams coach got rid of a kicker who was perfect for us the year before. A long snapper that's been perfect for his career and a huge upgrade at punter all because he wanted his own guys.

I'm already out on the guy. He looks like Reverend Kane's son anyway.

He wears this loss right along with the front office. It's on them.
