ooooo love me a good lamb gyro (btw it's pronounced earo for you savages)
It's actually "YEE-roh" (official Greek pronunciation). "YIH-roh" is also acceptable.

but I agree, casual uncultured people that say "JYE-roh" or "GUY-roh" are just wrong.

Everyone knows Grand Rapids is famous for obnoxiously large Lamb gyros.

My goodness.
Really? I got an even bigger one in Dearborn (near Detroit) a couple months back, for even a lower price... but they stuffed it with the wrong things that really shouldn't go on a Gyro/Shwarma and didn't let me customize it like the place in Grand Rapids did. I like hummus, tahini, tzatziki (if possible), onions, pickles, banana pepper rings (if possible), garlic... the Lebanese restaurant in Dearborn put wayyy too much lettuce and tomato which is a pet peeve of mine. I could do without either. I like lettuce ok, but on the side, not on a sandwich of any kind. Raw tomatoes are just... yuck. Love processed/cooked tomatoes, though.

Grand Rapids isn't really known for Mediterranean, Greek, or Middle Eastern food the way that Dearborn/Detroit area is, though. Grand Rapids is known for hot dogs, large meat portions at steakhouses, elk meat, bratwurst, deer sausage, fine sauerkraut, and German and Dutch beer. Oktoberfest is coming up soon... very high Dutch and German American population here.

Jimmy Johnson used to say you have to win 2 of 3 phases to win a football game... the phases are Offense, Defense, and Special Teams.

On paper the Cowboys have a edge on offense, lost on defense, and special teams is up in the air for the Charges game.

The main emphasis should be to establish the Running Back. Notice I did not say running game. Establish the All Pro RB on the ground and in the air and it will open up everything on offense. If the defense gives up another 30 points, the Cowboys will lose as usual.
the 4th matters, its coaching staffs....

I think pollard should be a significant part of the running game. This silliness if being a sub for when zeke raises his hand is....stupid.

Have a game plan that can be adjustable and take advantage of both skill sets....by surprise and subterfuge.
That is because you have no leadership at Head Coach and the Arlington Jonesboys will never win as the Dallas Cowboys without leadership at Head Coach and QB at the same time.

Do you remember when Julius Jones tapped on his helmet with Bill Parcells? It was not a good ending in that game for Jones.

Please have all the Arlington Jonesboys fans that mock this post, tell me why this team lost a game that their defense had 4 turnovers, their offense rack up 451 yards total offense, and scored 29 points?

I will bring up what real Dallas Cowboys Head Coaches quote all the time. You are not ridiculing me...see Jimmy Johnson. I have nothing in this but to see what I once knew as America's Team the Dallas Cowboys be some resemblance of what someone is trying to fool me that is really the Arlington Jonesboys.

You better find a way to KISS it and win 2 of 3 phases in a football game to win a game....What is the Arlington Jones Boys record since 1995? How many back to back winning seasons with playoff appearances The Arlington Jonesboys have had since 1995? Let me help you out....1 that is one, uno, un, um, waheb, en, eins, etc..

The Chargers are going to try to run all over the Cowboys. Book it! Our goal this offseason was to fix our run defense. This will be the test if we were successful or not. Future opponents will make note of this matchup and plan accordingly. So we better do well defending the run this week or there will just be more of the same in the coming weeks.

Likewise, the Cowboys need to redeem themselves with an honest effort to establish the ability to run the ball. Also, red zone efficiency will need to be made a priority.

As for special teams, Coach John Fassel should be on the hot seat. Questionable decisions to kick short on kickoffs and limit starting kicker involvement in the preseason have backfired and greatly contributed to the team's loss in TB. How quickly can Fassel turn things around?
Yes!! Fire Fassel because Zuerlein had surgery in the off season and couldn't do much in the preseason. Now, if you want to argue that they should have brought in another kicker and that failure caused us to put a kicker on the field that maybe isn't 100%, that would be a much more valid argument.

We have a lower end Defense and NO ST. ST should have been fixed last season.

On this board only the offense is held to account. It's their job, mostly Dak's, to make up for the rest of the team. This was true before he got paid.

Of course, no team wins that way. Even Brady and Mahomes need the rest of their team to show up on some level.

When you're 20-something on defense and 30-something on special teams, you're not winning anything. I don't care who you have at QB.

I don’t think establishment of a RB is important
The run game is
I don’t think we did that bad on defense but special teams were atrocious and inexcusably bad
Not just the missed kicks but the return coverage

you are correct, I miss typed and forgot the y in yearo
Having been mostly raised in Texas I also have a pet peeve about people who pronounce "jalapeño" anything other than "hal-uh-PEN-yoh" or "hawl-ah-PEN-yoh"... anyone who says "jal-...." or "hal-uh-PEEN-oh" is an uncultured tool.

It's not a "narrative" when we have 25 years of evidence to back it up.

This is where you tell me how great things were in 1993, as if that matters in 2021.

You pass to score, you run to win, and defense wins championships,

Cowboys won 3 phases and won the game. They kept the defense out of danger by running the ball and establishing the RBs with pass and run using RBs. This leads to time of possession that rest your defense.

Short 3rd down conversions is what you want and this OL can get you 7-8 yards with 2 carries. So 3rd and 2 or 3rd and 3 is an easier conversion for time of possession.
