Captain Crash replied to a similar post that "They want to stop this dynasty" and I agree with him that's gotta be the reason why they're all conspiring against the Cowboys.

The Cowboys had to know this was coming. It was a surprise to us fans but the team is informed when a player misses a drug test... or 7.

There’s no language? I thought the language said a missed test is treated like a failed test. If so, pretty sure 7 failed tests is suspension worthy.

Here's what's annoying about how news is reported.

The NFL suspended a player.
The talking heads report it to the fans.
Nobody knows the details.
Info leaks out bit by bit.
Everyone rushes to conclusions.

WHY does the NFL withhold the details!?!
They have an entire network specifically for their league.

He’s technically not suspended until the second appeal is heard, so this is a ‘leak’;but it’s a leak the Dallas Cowboys later acknowledged as official…. Before he even got his appeal. From his own team

Once the appeal happens hopefully we’ll know more

Yes, generally speaking a missed test is regarded as a fail.

The NFL, like most sports organisations, isnt allowed say anything about the reasons, especially with due process still underway. So any information in the public domain has come from other sources. None of us can really say anything about Collins as we simply dont know.

In other sports you often hear agents making out their client waa suspended for e.g. an over the counter medication etc. or 'recreational uses'. The reality is that none of us really know if these excuses are genuine because the testing organisation does not elaborate on the reasons.

Collins is a bum. The fact that this organization puts up with this behavior behind the scenes tells you why they cant get over the hump.

This guy is always hurt and missing entire seasons and now that he is semi healthy he gets suspended for 5 games.

Can you be a worse teammate than to just blow off your responsibilities like this?

Knowing that he was in this position they should have moved him in the offseason. I would move him for picks the minute he is eligible to play again.

Quincy Carter went into the program and was tested all the time, he was told by Parcells if you fail a test and get suspended it means we cant rely on you and you will be cut....he did and he was cut. I have no idea why they let collins pull this stuff when he has not been a reliable player because of injury already.

You have no idea concerning the situation, but feel free to cast aspersions.

Regardless of what happened 5 games is ridiculous. Two games would have been plenty.

And he didn't fail a single test. The suspension sounds punitive to the team not the individual

yet places that drug test consider missed test as failed test. I don't know the details but in the end getting tested is not optional for the player and Collins could have passed 20 but does not matter, when you are called in to take the test take it, in not doing so this will likely cost his team 5 weeks. Players do not just hurt themselves in situation like this, they hurt their team. Hell if I was Jerry I would hire 1 guy who keep track of these request for testing and walk the player over their myself since it seem some can't do it on their own.

Collins doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. The dude is a screw up and I wouldn't believe a thing that came from him.

When did you start following the Cowboys last year? Collins has been a mainstay I think until last year he the most games he missed was his first of 2nd year with a knee sprain he played in 3 games in 2016 but only reason he did not get the starting job back was because of how well Leary was playing.

I don't usually push conspiracy theories, but tell me this doesn't sound suspect (especially following the unfounded basis for Zeke's suspension)... I did find it interesting that the suspension includes the NY giants game:

There is simply no language in the new substance-abuse policy that says seven failures to appear or seven failures to cooperate equate to suspension.

There are some blurred lines in the new CBA rules related to the NFL's substance-abuse policy, and La'el Collins clearly believes he's been victimized by the blur.

The substance abuse policies are just dumb. It was supposed to protect the image of the league. It often just makes them appear corrupt.

The game and the season should be decided on the field. That's what sports is about. Competition we can all see on the field.

Instead, the NFL is ruled by bureaucrats and refs making bad calls in secret proceedings we're not allowed to know anything about. The No Fun League in action. Makes it the No Fan Interest League too. I'm not that interested in following a league of lawyers fighting for their players to make it to the field. They'd be better off just rolling the dice to suspend people. Instead, it's totally opaque to the fans. At best, it looks arbitrary and capricious, at worst it looks corrupt.

Between Cowboy management showing that The Stupid didn't follow Garrett out the door, or the NFL taking the deciding calls off the field, this fan finds it hard to care about the games.

Come on. You "theorists" can't quit the NFL. You will watch all the way while threatening you won't, also hoping the multi-billion dollar league fails. But you WILL be witnesses to everything in between.

Ya gotta see past the star on the helmet, bud.
What I see is someone that decided LONG AGO about Collins and facts and anything like it means nothing.

I know what I know and don't bother me with the truth
