mr IN---why they have Jarwin blocking when you got Shutlz who is real good blocker????...Jarwin never known for good blocking...ever...see that is mis-management of personnel

He is there because everyone and their dog knows he is not a great blocker. Will he block down or go out in a pattern?

He lost this time. Next time this play is called what will the defence key on? Pass or block? Or is it a fake, and Zeke pulls the defender to him and lobs the ball over the defender's head to Jarwin?

This still doesn't excuse Jarwin not doing his job.

Where was all that supposed Elliott speed and quickness we heard so much about. A back with speed gets to the pylon.

Would Kamara have scored on the same play? Henry? McCaffrey?

Yeah, the block was bad by Jarwin. The run by Elliott was just as bad. Even Dak should have ran more to the left with Elliott forcing the DB to pick one or the other.

Had Jarwin just released for a pass the DB would have most likely followed.

The play was there. The execution by Dak ($40M), Elliott ($15M), and Jarwin ($5M) was horrible.

I don't think you ask your $40M QB to take that ball into the teeth of the DE and get blasted so pitching was the correct play by Dak. Jarwin was terrible on the block and Zeke was terrible at recognizing that no block was forthcoming. He needed to see that sooner and attack upfield instead of waiting. He was indecisive and the results were crappy. Putting myself in that situation I paint a target on the DBs chest and run right at him. Waiting cost Zeke his momentum and his power. He ran the play how it was supposed to be run.. which in this instance was the wrong thing to do.

That was a half *** effort by Jarwin on his blocking attempt. No excuses on his part, just no effort at all. You can tell he did not want to block even though the success of that play depended on his block. Inexcusable.

Everybody knows Jarwin blew it. Zeke knows, Jarwin knows. What good could possibly come of Zeke telling the media that Jarwin sucks at blocking and it was his fault Zeke didn't score? You do that, you start losing trust among your teammates. Then it's over.
Yep. And he didn’t just say he has to make the DB miss; he added what he didn’t do and should’ve. That shows maturity.

Good on Zeke to take blame, but why are vets that know better still being quoted saying..."it's on me, I have to be better". Same thing last year but in regards to 4 fumbles a game....

Excuse Zeke, he’s just learning the position, smh.

Running to the outside with the ball on your inside hand is just okay inexcusable.

that was a pitiful attempt at a block and what makes it worse is that he knew it was the key block.. it's not like the play call was to the other side and it was cutback or something crazy the RB or QB did.. his man is the only man that can prevent the TD with their D alignment.. and he didn't even try to block him. There are no excuses for that.

Interesting. Jarwin could have made the block, and Zeke can win 1:1 matchup. Another example of where multiple things can be true at the same time.

Regardless if Jawin whiffed Zeke needs to get in the end zone. Top 3 highest paid RB in the league needs to win a 1 on 1 with a CB.

The QB could and should have taken the ball further out from the DE, not into the teeth of the DE. Pitching was correct. Dak just pitched it too early and should have gotten further toward toward the sideline and away from the DE before pitching.

Everybody is not looking at the safety, ( Winfield Jr? ) He was not fooled at all from the start , he was tracking the whole play and even if Zeke had bulled his way over the DB , he wouldn’t have been able to overcome the safety. But cowboys should have gone for the 4th down , put in another OL to block use zeke or Dak to carry the ball and finish.

Sorry but I disagree here. The option was to the short side of the field and taking it out further would have further reduced the area in which the play would be allowed to operate as well as allowing more of the play side defenders to come over before you get the ball into the hands of the person you actually want to carry the ball. Basically you are advocating keeping the ball in the hands of the 4.8 athlete longer before getting it in the hands of the 4.4 athlete.

several mistakes on this play, obviously Jarwin and his whiff. the guy has no idea on how to even set up for a block. he was straight up, with his feet right under him that didn't give him any strong base to get a push or be able to move laterally and he tries to set up on the wrong side of the defender. I mean you are in freaking NFL, just got paid handsomely, at least learn your craft a little. you are a TE and you should know basic blocking.

Zeke should have realized he is not going to win that foot race to the corner, as he said ball was also in the wrong hand. you are a big RB, so he should have gone north-south and try to plow his way through, minimally get closer to the end zone and give us a chance perhaps to go for it on 4th down. If you look you see Schultz (I think that's who it is) who was the inside shoulder of Jarwin, sets up real nice for the block, turns his body, has a nice base and holds his guy. if Zeke turned north-south and plowed he might have had a better angle because at that point jarwin was in position to block the DB....

lots of stupidity on this play. our players aren't very smart.

Jarwin deserves 100% of whatever anyone wants to give him, he stole money with that effort.

Stand up guy not to throw his TE teammate under the bus. Well done Zeke.

I think Elliott is somewhat being fair in his assessment. Jarwin has to make that block, but Elliott also took on a safety one-on-one and lost. He has to win that battle.
