I’m in favor of this if it puts Cox on the field. If it means more jaylon or lve, it might be worse than keeping parsons at lb

They have Parsons doing a lot hopefully it doesn’t have him thinking too much. The Cowboys are putting a lot on his plate. That can lead to a lot of mistakes we saw a few from him on Thursday night. He looked lost a few times.

Parsons should stick to linebacker. Let's let him master that before we start trying to get him reps at DE.

Parsons probably should not play a LDE or a RDE or a big end. He could do some time as a Leo, always on the weak side of the formation. But best would be to move him around, use him like an 'R', a rush linebacker. Then he could stunt with just about anybody.

My 2 cents is that I'd prefer he be the starting Mike all the time, but until we figure out all of our pass rush, we may need the assist.

BTW, rushing is something that Jaylon can do as well. He has some skillz there.

If Basham and Armstrong aren’t able to hold down the LDE spot— we are in trouble. Parsons needs to patrol the second level and pick his spots to rush.

The LDE is more about setting the edge in run defense. RDE is more about pure speed rush. Basham is bigger than Tank… he needs to be able to hold up vs the run— get creative at pressuring the QB from different positions

hate to throw negativity on this one, but hes going to get manhandled with his hand in the dirt going against big OT's....maybe as a standup passrusher in a hybrid scheme, but he just doen't have the body type to play like a traditional DE>

I don't disagree, but he's about the same size as Tank.(at least their listed weights). More of a technique issue, I'd imagine. D-Law was giving up almost 80# last week to Wirfs. It showed on a few plays, but Tank's been getting leverage on those big dudes for years.

I hope they don't ruin this guy's development by putting him all over the field to where he starts getting confused. I don't understand why the cowboys keep drafting a guy for one position and them having him move to all these other positions. we've had 'conversion projects' constantly at the safety position and none of them have really ever turned out.

Heck with that.
I want him to get some reps at Running Back.

His impact on team wins as a pass rusher is where I place his true value anyway. Had a lengthy discussion with AsthmaField on how utilizing his pass rush ability properly optimizes his usefulness/importance to the team.

No other way around it.

Let's go Quinn, coach this thing up right!

It’s so obvious—it’s expected.

Just let Parsons chase Herbert all day.

Why not?

We aren't stopping them no matter what. We need to outscore them and manage the clock and possessions properly.

This defense may be good come turkey time, but it isn't right now when down a few starters.
