I like Parsons more at LBer… line him up all over the formation. DE is a mismatch and could get him hurt. He hasn’t practiced much there, and while he is certainly athletic— his technique has to be really raw.

Basham and Armstrong at least have quality NFL reps and are bigger…. Let Micah rush as a blitzer to help with QB pressure. Overload that right side and stress their backup RT out with different looks and packages.
Exactly. Do I think Parsons can do it? Maybe? Maybe not. What I do know is he can play linebacker and I don’t make my linebacker group worse in the name of adding him to DE….

If anybody can do it, it’s Micah. Dude is an absolute freak. Im sure Quinn will have some tricks up his sleeve to get him going.

This could be lighting in a bottle that turns the defense around
They may have him standing up.

I assume Slater starts for them, so that'll be interesting.

Herbert is really good, but he doesn't get rid of the ball as quickly as Brady.

I've said in other threads though that I'm much more worried about missing Collins than either DE.

Steele is going to be a problem. Spending all day hoping I'm wrong, and that THIS staff doesn't pull a Green and not do anything about it until it's too late.

I also hope Knight is ready to backup Tyron, because if Steele has to play LT, it could become painful.

I like Steele, but isn't ready yet.

Well in their defense, they announced it game day. It’s still around 5am West coast time lol

What does this say about their confidence in Basham and Armstrong? They have been talking them up all offseason, and even this week— and then when it cones tome to play them— you announce you are starting a rookie out of position over them?

Nah… this move reeks of desperation and is an admission of the fact they tolerate shoddy depth knowingly and cross their fingers when it comes to injuries

Whoever goes against Slater is shut down. He single handily took chase young out of the game

This move would be impossible for a normal LB to do. Thankfully Parsons is an athletic freak of nature that it’s possible he could be this teams second best pass rusher

I think it will be more of outside linebacker in a 3/4. I just don’t see him putting his hand on the ground on running downs. The Cowboys are going to use the LVE/Jaylon this game. We are down our top two pass rushers. I would love to see Cox and Goldston personally.

That’s kind of where I’m at. If it’s a passing situation. Absolutely rush Parsons. Whether that’s from the edge or up the middle.

just don’t want to see him playing with his hand in the dirt on rushing downs. That doesn’t play to his strengths.

Put the best 11 on the field. Rushing Parsons and having a healthy LVE at MLB is >> whatever garbage will be attempting to rush the passer at DE.

Hopefully it opens up a spot for Jabril Cox to play a lot more snaps .
That’s my hope. Cox in on passing downs and third down. Limiting jaylon on the field is best for business. Micah I do think they’ll do hybrid looks. He’ll play linebacker w golston snd Armstrong on the ends. Then he shifts up at points. I don’t see him strictly being dend

There was a lot of talk all offseason about a 3-4 over or some such formation where one outside guy was a LB lining up on the outside standing. I wonder if that is what is really going on here. Are they really going to the 3-4 over with Parsons as the blitzing OLB?

Not smart to just “move him to DE” without actually playing that position at training camp and having real prep for it.

sure rush him off the edge more, but if they put Parsons at DE and then put trash (Jaylon) at LB. it ain’t gonna help.

I hope contracts and seniority don’t enter into the rotation . Neal & Cox deserve more playing time LVE & Smith less.

Let’s hope today marks the day that Parsons took over this defense. A few big plays , especially in key moments, and this guy will instantly become the best player on this defense.
