John Mara is in the league’s ear … he was heavily involved w Zeke …

Jerry doesn’t have a friend in the world …

Do you know when the Jerry witch hunting started ?

Do you ?

I’ll tell yuk when ….

Miles Austin contract during the lockout - a pack of Mara led owners charged JJ with circumvention of the cap …

Why do you think Dez dropped it ?

Does anybody think it will be over turned? Whether or not it's legit, how on earth with Rog dodge the forcing him to sit for one game, and then back track saying sorry by mad you can play again sir. This pathetic league will onlyl suffer another black eye if they do so, and we know how they feel about that
It’s too late to overturn now

There's the context we were waiting for. Don't ever try to tell me the league isn't out to get Dallas. This is beyond ridiculous.
It’s obvious that goodell is for sure. Was obvious to me when he railroaded Elliot. He opens his own investigation over a case that was dropped because the accuser was a proven liar so he was never charged. One of the main investigators for the NFL was a women who talked to the accuser and told goodell that she was a liar and changed her story about 50 times. He ignored her and put undo pressure on the team and Elliot and finally suspends him for the games. While bringing negative attention to the NFL.

Mean while there was a kicker that was arrested for beating his wife multiple times and he got a quick 1 game suspension. OBJ got caught in a video with a hooker chopping coke and he was smoking a blunt and trying to talk her into having sex with one of his friends. Likely not even drug tested or suspended.

Wow NFL should be embarrassed

Good to have more information but something still SMELLS either on the NFL or on Collins....I mean the NFL suspended him and a Arbitrator sided for the NFL...then the NFLPA is suspiciously quite.... You would think the NFLPA would be coming out in support of the player

The tweet supports 2 of the missed 10x a month....what about the others....missed pissed test..and why is he in the program at all...

Ok...let me clarify....

I'm just as pissed as everyone else over the unfairness, and Goodell being able to do whatever he wants.

Keep in mind that while WE were blindsided by all this, it started a while ago.

There are nearly 2k players in the NFL, and with turnover, closer to 10k since the current rules have been in place.

Why has this happened to no one else??

Whichever happened first, the funeral or surgery, it counted as a fail, which is the reason for more frequent testing....the the other as a second fail, which meant he may as well have moved into the piss lab.

You can't not show up.. Same as turning down a breathalyzer. Arrangements could have been made if he was leaving town I'm sure, especially for a funeral.

Now, the Cowboys probably should have had someone on this, and they probably did.....some unpaid intern who was previously fired from whataburger, or the like.

In the end, Collins needs to adhere to the rules and have understood the situation.

Wish I didn't feel that way. Much easier to direct my angst toward Goodell.
Great point. The bucks stops with Collins. He is paid to be available and part of that process is in the offseason NFPLA guidelines.
Plus...Lael lack of conditioning in camp appears to be an early red flag.

Yeah, and why is the NFL the only league that suspendes first, then hears an appeal? MLB has thousands of suspensions during a season and a player/coach is allowed to file an appeal prior to serving. Only in the N F L is this allowed to happen, legit or not legit suspensions are
They appealed and lost

Has one player come to Collins’ defense? I have not heard of one, even a Cowboy teammate? Where is Dak and why is he not speaking up about his teammate and friend Collins getting screwed by the league?

The other players in the league and the players’ union don’t seem to care. So, why should I care?

Just way too much silence all around from the team to the player himself to the other players to the league. Only the agent seems to be speaking. Something is wrong on many fronts and I definitely don’t trust Collins … or the NFL … or Goodell … or the union.

The players and the union agreed to this nonsense testing. They are the ones who need to fix it.

I think they’ve known about this before the season.

They likely appealed it and didn’t find out prior to the Tampa game.

Which makes it even worse since so many people knew about it for so long and said nothing. Something stinks about this whole thing. From Collins to Cowboy teammates to other players in the league to the union to the NFL to the media. Makes absolutely no sense and even less sense if no one is coming to Collins’ defense.

You can drop that bs now. Collins got screwed plain and simple.
"However, as previous reports indicated, Collins’ suspension stems from missed tests, not positive test results. La Canfora says Collins has failed to appear for testing seven times" & times ever wonder what his excuses were for those? There is more to this and that's why there not much push back.

More to his suspension than his agent is giving you...you're only getting one part of the whole story, the part his agent want to try to spin!

Even if he does miss the 5 games I’d still fight it if I was him to try and get my 5 game checks I’d be missing.

That’s such BS if true. Obviously as fans we want him to play, but I’d want my money if I was him that I’d be missing.

Undergoing surgery counts as a fail and you just brush it off. Tells us all we need to know about YOU.
First, this tells you close to zero about ME.

How many NFL players have undergone surgery since the current guidelines have been in place?

Think about that number, and also how many players have been suspended over it.

There's NO WAY that the guidelines include not allowing medication after surgery....but there are probably certain protocols that go along thereof considering random testing.

He probably didn't follow them. If he did, it shouldn't have counted against him.....yet it did.

One miss/fail causes more frequent testing, but I doubt the league would not allow him to attend a funeral of a family member. Im sure arrangement could have been made. Did he?

As insensitive and unfair as that may all sound.....he KNEW he had strikes against him when he KNEW he had a scheduled drug test, but the team was sent home.

Did he ASK someone what to do?

The agent seems pretty vocal. He couldn't call the league office and find out what to do??

BTW....you dishing out personal insults because you don't agree with my opinion tells me plenty about YOU.

I’m reading a lot of excuses from Collins’ side which can be done in retrospect. I’m more interested in whether he provided the NFL these excuses when they were occurring?

I get the sense he just ghosted the drug tests and these claims are being offered by Collins’ team for the optics.

Collins missed multiple drug tests, according to sources, but he also believes there are valid reasons for almost each missed test.

One missed test came in November on the day that Cowboys strength and conditioning coach Markus Paul died and the organization sent all its players home to allow them to grieve.

Another missed test came on the day of Collins' uncle's funeral in Arizona, according to a source. The Cowboys gave Collins permission to leave Dallas and tend to his family, the source told ESPN.

A third missed test came on the day Collins underwent hip surgery in October. The league counted a positive test for codeine against him, but Collins was prescribed the drug after having the surgery.

Collins didn't have any positive marijuana tests during the past 18 months. His representatives also have argued that under the drug policy in the new collective bargaining agreement, suspensions aren't permitted for missed tests.
