Well, not much to save in this case. I guess he stays on the team. Hopefully, the Cowboys dump him next year. Time to move on fro him in my opinion.

Maybe, to be honest assuming we dont have to use every pick on Defense again we could have some qaulity OT in the draft but man do those go quick.

A grown azz man needs permission to go to his uncle's funeral??? NFL is full of shyt!!! Don't need no fuc'n permission from them.
No he doesn't, but he needed to explain why he wasn't around for a drug test.

I have no idea what happened but maybe look at it this way.....

You wouldn't need permission per se from your boss to attend a funeral, but if you were going to miss work because of it, would you tell them in advance....or just not show for work and explain later, expecting to be forgiven because of the seriousness of the reason?

It’s part of their job to give him information.

I don’t know what they told him but if you have a drug test at work and they send everyone home they have to make it clear to him that he still needs to take his drug test at his company that closed due to the pandemic.
At first I blamed the agent and team for not being on this.

IMO this offers more evidence that there's much more to this than we know.

He had to have pulled something behavioral wise.

Might’ve cussed out a tester haha.

All I know is Dallas has done a terrible job making sure their multi million dollar investment had his testing taken care of.

Dallas should be the buffer between La’el and the league that eliminates any issues like we have now.

Good to have more information but something still SMELLS either on the NFL or on Collins....I mean the NFL suspended him and a Arbitrator sided for the NFL...then the NFLPA is suspiciously quite.... You would think the NFLPA would be coming out in support of the player

The tweet supports 2 of the missed 10x a month....what about the others....missed pissed test..and why is he in the program at all...
I know people think the nfl is out to get the cowboys but you make some very valid points
He was in the testing program for a reason
He missed some tests for valid reasons but why did he miss the others?
The fact the NFLPA has been so silent on this makes you wonder why?
Many suspensions on appeal get lowered, this one didn’t. Why was it that the entire suspension was upheld?
I think there is much more we don’t know and though 3 of the tests it appears he had a valid reason to miss the story really doesn’t address the others at all
The fact it doesn’t gives me the impression his agent is looking for public sympathy which the league cares nothing about

Ok, given those facts are true. The rules state missed tests are FINES and not suspensions. And nowhere in the rules is there a 5 game suspension regardless. It is a shaft job any way you look at it. Pathetic.
I don't disagree there.

So these are possible excuses for only 3 tests. Even the tweet itself says these are excuses for "almost each" missed tests. How many tests is the league claiming were missed in total?

I would assume there is some process for a situation where you couldn’t be available for a test
If not there should be but one fact most are missing is he’s only in the testing program because he’s failed a test

Especially one that they KNEW was on the edge of a serious problem with another miss.

Even for them, I just can't see how that happened.

Again, there's much more to this.

I just wish his replacement wasn't such a dropoff....and it doesn't have to be that way, but we continue to trip over ourseleves.

Ain't nobody asking these questions, bro. Playing the VICTIM is far too easier.

The funeral and pain meds should have been cleared in advance.....formally with the league that is.

I'm guessing he didn't do that, but figured his excuse was of such a serious nature it's automatic forgiveness.

Just a guess, but I can't imagine a scenario where Collins had a scheduled test, a family member passes away, he calls the league to let them know of the conflict, and he was told....no, sorry, you can't go.

It was probably blown off because there supposedly isn't a suspension penalty for misses....until he pissed off Roger (pardon pun!), a guy who has proven that he will make up his own rules and dare you to question it.

you are assuming the drug test is scheduled with the team. I bet you it’s not and it’s scheduled with the player.

I can’t stand the way the NFL doles out “discipline.” Inconsistent and hypocritical as hell…. No respect for Goodell and his goon cronies

And why the frick is the NFLPA not involved yet?! They should be up in arms and in Goodell’s face to make sure one of their players is taken care of! This sets a horrid precedent for other players— but I am not surprised you see a circus when clowns are in charge

In accordance with my previous posts, these all sound like very good reasons to miss testing.

Why was it not cleared, and his people or the team allowed him to be on the verge of strike three, or whatever it was?

If not possible to remove from his record, thats total BS, but not a reason to miss yet another one when the team was sent home.

I mean, ASK someone what to do. Call the league. Tell them. If they told him to be at that test instead of going home that's what should have happened.

It didn't.

All this while knowing Goodell don't play when it comes to suspensions. He doesn't often get it right either....but there just should have been more awareness here....

By the team, the agent, and Collins himself.

Don't mean this as any disrespect Just asking. You say those are the rules but what about the rules that state it will be a fine, not a suspension?

Seems like he has some legitimate excuses for missing 3 tests, but per reports he has missed 7 tests...what about the other 4? For all we know the other 4 tests are the reason he got suspended. You can't miss tests it's part of the CBA

According to the rules though its a fine, not a suspension.

Anyone think the NFLPA is not involved because they too know the whole truth, not just spin, and see the suspension as fair? Hard sell here with the knee-jerk reactions but again just asking the questions no one else is ..... or can.
