Whew…. Glad we won. Some thoughts:

1. Despite the GW kick… special teams coaching is trash. Made bad decisions all game and we got lucky GZ bailed us out

2. Dak was pedestrian. The INT was terrible. Last week he looked elite. Today— he looked average at best

3. The running game was awesome and won us the game… clutch first downs, big plays, and wore down the LAC D. Very impressive

4. Steele played very, very well. Proud of the kid.

5. Defense looked scrappy and gritty again. Loved the turnovers and they look much better than last year— especially considering how short handed we were

6. Micah Parsons. Kid is a BEAST. Unreal game. Disruptive and nasty all day long. Defense is fun to watch again

7. Coaching was unimpressive. Horrid clock and game management at the 2 min mark. McCarthy has only made me more concerned about his ability despite the fact we won

8. Refs suck. Calls finally went “our way” and we are used to being the ones getting screwed— but it sucks to even win with their help. They are hurting the quality of the product and the Nfl doesn’t seem to care a bit about it

Dak isn’t throwing anywhere close to 400 yards if a team plays that much zone. He’s an average QB, if not for the threat of the RG that was gaining yardage against the zone as well, which would naturally force another man in the box. The outside runs by Pollard against the zone were big.

I have no idea why teams continue to give us so much man looks, but I expect teams, start playing plenty of what the Chargers did. Why expose your DBs against

Dak doesn’t take risks against it.

If our defense didn’t hold down the fort, we taking Ls all day. Unlike us, San Diego basically relied way too much on Herbert’s arm without trying to run the ball until the end. And we played zone.

But overall a win is a win.
