While it's true that Jason seemed to have no ability to be creative in crafting an offensive.
Nor any ability to change plans as the game developed.
He also lacked the ability to lead really talented personnel to success.
But I don't remember as many real inexplicable play decisions & time mismanagement in Jasons 7 years as I have in Mikes 1 season +.
Lost nites clock mismanagement was just the latest
I remember watching JG & saying "Well I don't think that was the best call & why is he clapping again" but with MM I've said "What was he thinking...that didn't make any sense...WTH is going on"

I have real concerns that this team will actually lose a few games based solely on MM clear lack of ability in these areas & I can't see how he will improve.

OMG did you not watch the last decade of the Cowboys games.....mismanagement was the cornerstone of Jason Garrett....even in NY they are giving him hell .....COME ON MAN....

Jason made poor game management choices repeatedly. He typical was worth at least a single loss per year alone. He had no clue at 1st especially. There is an old report of Jerry even admitting that.

Try the "icing the kicker game." Review that whole sequence and come with an explanation of running 1 play in 45 seconds and taking a timeout with you to end the game (missed long FG). Never seen a worse sequence than that on any level of football.

That said, if JG was curly, MM would be Larry....still not the smartest stooge

Jason Garrett is miles worse than McCarthy and I think McCarthy is pretty useless but AT LEAST he had done some things when he got his first coaching gig. Garrett was a Jerry-pet.

For reference...2 TOs. 1:10 around midfield. Complete a pass to Bryant at the 31 yd line. Run 40 seconds off the clock and spike it.. FG unit comes on. Take 1st TO at the snap. Miss FG. GO INTO oT with 1 TO never used. Couple that with LOBBYING brad Johnson in 08, we stuck it out 9 more years to try to get through "training"

Good example the Peter Principle. Garrett was a good QB but reached his level of incompetence as HC.

A lot of shoves

A lot of spitting

And, to close, a lot of clapping

Shoutout to Garrett for calling this with :04 left in the half

CZ poster yinyammer had/has a crazy long listing of bad firsts to have happened to Garretts Cowboy teams on that Dallas CowboysUniverse website. It might still be up, I don't know. The list is painfully long and a reminder of the so many 'rare' ways in how to lose a game was accomplished during Garretts tenure.

I would’ve taken a knee there just because the likelihood of scoring was extremely small. But the result was all on Choice and, to a lesser degree, Tony. You can tell from where Tony was looking from the outset the plan was to attack deep, but the Commanders had that covered so he dumped off to Choice. Tony should’ve just thrown it away or gone down, but the biggest issue is Choice fumbled the ball.
