I have no interest in Moore as a HC...but as a OC.....I think his future is bright. I think he's already one of the best in the league just by watching certain offenses...

This was heavily reported at the time lol.

Broaddus even said on the radio that not only did he interview but he interviewed poorly.
Didn't know he interviewed poorly but yeah someone made a post about it on this site....I didn't think the Eagles or any team was serious about Moore as a Head Coach honestly.

If Jerry wants Moore to be the next Cowboys HC, Moore is not going anywhere. I have reservations about Moore becoming HC and they have nothing to do with McCarthy who makes me wonder what his role is with the Cowboys.

Is Moore positioned well enough in the NFL to put a staff together? Is he capable of running a team; offense, defense and special teams, putting the structure in place for practices, training, meetings, player management, etc.? Will Jerry be directing him to call his own plays? Will Jerry be on the sideline with a headset?

I don't doubt Moore is a smart and capable coach, but that's a quantum leap to HC for a dude who learning how to be an OC.

Nick Sirianni is an offensive coach. He was the Colts offensive coordinator, and a QB coach/WR coach in his prior jobs.
Whoops, for some reason I thought he was a defensive guy. Thanks for the correction!

Kellen should be REALLY motivated now.

I guess it's a good thing the Rams didn't think about "steps" when they hired Sean McVay at age 30.
That right there is the problem. Everyone is trying to find the next McVay. Cowboys already tried this with Garrett.

I can't sit back and not say anything. Explain to me again what makes Kellen Moore qualified to be a head coach in the NFL?

Because as I look at the "steps" we have traditionally heard that one must take to become a NFL head coach....Kellen Moore has a LONG ways to go!!!!!!
I respectfully disagree. I didn't become ready to be a school superintendent until I was doing that job. I excelled at the job prior to that. But, nothing prepares you for a job more than doing that job. My only concerns with Moore would be whether or not he can maintain this level of game planning throughout the year and has he developed a network of people he can rely on to help him transition to HC.

I agree with MM. Moore would be an excellent candidate to be a HC in several organizations including Dallas. The chances are high that he would be better than MM with his in-game coaching decisions. If they could hire a young, energetic DC to pair with him, I think it would be a big improvement.

I think if we don't will 11 games, McCarthy is out and Moore is in

I dont think Jones is going to accept 10-7 from McCarthy. The D coaching hires last year was already a big negative for him

I could see Quinn as next HC . Here or somewhere

I've seen that movie before...

ex backup QB turned OC turned HC

it was a dud.

Garrett was a Ivy league QB that has no reason to be in the NFL whatsoever. The only reason he became Aikman's backup was because his ties to the Jones's.

Moore was not an Ivy League QB. But he earned his place in the NFL based on college stats. He has won more games than any QB in college history, has the highest passer rating in college history playing over 4 seasons, threw for more than 14,000 yards and had a completion rating of over 70%.

If it weren't for his noodle arm and lack of athleticism he would have easily been a #1 overall pick.

Garrett was a con-artist pretending to be a genius.

Kellen Moore is a true offensive mind that has proved it in his college career.

I guess it's a good thing the Rams didn't think about "steps" when they hired Sean McVay at age 30.
Ummmm, Sean McVay started coaching at the NFL level in 2008 as Assistant WR Coach in TB under Jon Gruden.
Then he spent 4 years as a TE coach for the WFT under Mike Shanahan, before getting promoted to OC for 3 more years under Jay Gruden.

So while McVay was a really young HC, he had 8 years of NFL coaching experience (and not including his 1 year coaching in the UFL) before he got his shot at HC.

Kellen, on the other hand, has just over 3 years of ANY coaching experience (1 as QB coach, 2 as OC).

So while I am not in the camp that a coach should have 20+ years experience before one should get a shot at HC, I believe making Kellen the HC at this point of his career reeks of Jason Garrett rather than mirror Sean McVay.

IMO Kellen is on his way, but the beginning of this year has been the first year I have been impressed by him as an OC. His first two gameplans this year have been spot on. He still gets a little too cute at times during the game, but he's well on his way even if he isn't ready .... just yet.

I wouldn't want him. He's weak. I can't even imagine him trying to lead a team.
