Why I like McCarthy more than Garrett

The team is better. There’s competition and good young players at every level on defense. And they can go into a game down 5 starters and actually win instead of the no hope, no balls, zero confidence team we’ve grown accustomed to under Jason Garrett.

I'm not convinced yet that McCarthy is the guy that can take us to the promised land, BUT I'll tell you one thing I appreciate. They set Terence Steele up for success. That dude was ready, and they gave him some help from time to time. You guys remember that Falcons game a couple of years ago? The worst game I can remember. They had some rookie out there, or free agent (I can't remember who it was) and Garrett and company just left him out there to fight for his life, and the Falcons had like 25 sacks that night. It was truly a nightmare. Steele's performance tells me McCarthy is a step up.

I don't disagree but hopefully "better than Garrett" isn't bar. He'll need to be better than Arians, Reid, Belichick, McVay, etc..

Low low bar but yes, he is better if only a little bit.

10 and 8 in the playoffs and a Super Bowl winner. It’s way more than a little bit. Hilarious Garrett accomplished nothing at all and he’s still compared to coaches who won championships. The bar has been lowered unfortunately.

I’d like to see what Moore could do.

Mikey hasn’t been impressive thus far with the experience and success he’s had.

All Rodgers. I saw Rodgers do a hard count on the 5 yard line. Collinsworth was talking about how rare that is. Rodgers created what you thought were coaching advantages. Give Garrett Rodgers and he prob squeezes out a ring too.

well rogers hasn't gotten a ring without big mike so your logic is ludicrous... If you're judging mike by a few bad calls or oversights your neglecting to watch other coaches make similar boneheaded calls week to week... Big Mike will make us the best we've been since parcells, he knows what winning looks like... Chill man..

lol sure it was. People talk like he wins the Super Bowl every year or you don’t need a D or a coach who can scheme and prepare a team! How many championships Rodgers have since?

wasn't McCarthy the head coach last year when they left Steele on an island against the Browns and he got killed?

Hopefully, some day in the future, McCarthy's record as head coach of the Cowboys will surpass Garrett's. He may already have a better roster to work with.

As much as I’m disappointed in the ST hire Fassel I think Joe Philbin is solid as OL coach . Dak has time to go through progressions and the run game is working when you have healthy men up front . Philbin was also a HC briefly in the Bermuda Triangle of Coaches in Dolphin land. This ain’t his first rodeo.

I agree. Joe Philbin is his best and most underrated hire.

Chaz Green was a 3rd round draft pick. He couldn't block worth a lick.

On the other hand, Steele was an undrafted FA. Was terrible during his entire rookie season.

Look at how he has played now. He was coached well.

Sure he may have give up 3 sacks in the next game. So I can be wrong. But Steele didn't get much help all the time. And sometimes they did.

Garrett would have thrown in out to the wolves. Would probably wouldn't give him any help. And Dak would have regressed as a QB once again.

Garrett was the worst coach Dallas ever had. Glad that he is finally gone for good.

I like how every non-qualified couch fan thinks their decision is best for the team. Go tell Jerry this, not us. IMO, you have to give McCarthy a chance since he WAS a Super Bowl winning coach, and Rodgers' hasn't been back since MM. Whatever you think of the guy, it's not your call.

These were the score of the first season of the sorry college coach turn Pro..... Jimmy Johnson in his first year.

You are out of your mind if you think you can judge Urban Meyer based upon 2 games.

I know-whoever though Jimmy Johnson would make a good NFL coach should be banned from the game. Pete Carroll, Bill Walsh, Jim Harbaugh-what the heck were these people thinking making them NFL coaches.
yeah its a gamble but I really think Riley would be better than MM
