Moore is still improving. his scheme and play calling is good, but game management (is that the head coach responsibility? his? joint responsibility?). and his redzone play calling needs to improve. he also needs to try and not to out smart himself at times, ala Chargers game when we were driving down field. running easily. quick passes. moving the chains and he calls a college gimmiky play and kills the momentum. immediately after that play calls a 4 reciever combination but all are going mid to deep while the middle is wide open (slant). and dak got sacked and out of field goal range....he just needs to clean it up a bit. like I said. improving, but not upper echelon yet.

Only mistake was running the swinging gate twice. 1st one to Pollard worked great and 2nd time he ran it in the same series he even said he over reached on that play. He mentioned other plays that are flee flicker (gimmick plays) that they work on and should the situation arise in the game he they will use them. One reason is you know the opponent has not prepared for it. Maybe because I grew up watching Landry I don't mind the occasional trick play, he seem to run them at least 1 time a game be it a halfback pass or some other play that defense is just not ready for.

First he's gotta convince me that he's a good OC.

Got to get better in the Red Zone, better play design and better play calling. He's got to get thru his head that Dak is just not that good at throwing the Fade/back shoulder pass. So you adjust and call appropriate plays - how bout some pick/rub plays. And try and isolate WRs in the EZ. If he's such a genius, surely he can figure it out.

Moving the ball between the 20's with all the resources spent on that side of the ball doesn't impress me, you better be able to do that with all the advantages they give the O.

Having said that - yes he has seemed to have improved - he got rid of some tired old plays and got some new ones.

As far as HC - I dont know if he's that at this point, my gut tells me he might be another Wade Phillips - good coordinator, not so good head coach...

I don't mind the occasional trick play, but as I mentioned and you just confirmed. sometimes he tries to outsmart himself. catch lighting in the bottle twice.....in college it works perhaps, not in the NFL.

and his redzone needs some work, although I do think the redzone is combination of several issues and moore is just one part of it. play calling needs to improve. execution needs to improve.

I think many coaches will have 1 or 2 plays they may have wanted to change through out a game. If you pull the win most do not make issue of it. As for redzone, yes it is something this team needs to continue to work on. Tampa 1 of 4 in the redzone. this past a game 2 out of 3 TD in the redzone, improved but it is something they will have to continue to work on

I love KM mindset, but as has been stated...he does make some "Rookie Mistakes" still, like alot of other young OC he outsmarts himself when things are working....Again going to the Boise Swingin gate twice in a drive killed a drive that was moving very well. Just want to see him get a little more stable and we could see magic.

The Garrett coaching tree has no Branches. Moore might be the first.

:laugh::laugh::laugh::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Garrett hated having Moore and having to give up play calling. Garrett held back Moore if anything. Not that Moore is out from under Garrett he is blossoming.

No you mean you want every play to work. Not reality. Moore is killing it. And after Garrett no one should be nit picking about anything.

There needs to be a ban on Tony Romo suggesting that Kellen Moore will be a head coach next season. Are we not allowed to have talent on our coaching staff without it being ripped away from us? At the very least, we should appreciate Moore while he is here.

Kellen Moore recognized the Chargers’ inability to stop the run, and he trusted the offensive line to push Los Angeles around. Running behind Zack Martin, who didn’t miss a beat, the Cowboys finished with 198 rushing yards on 31 attempts. Even CeeDee Lamb lined up as a running back. Moore is able to exploit the weaknesses of a defense as well as any other coach in the NFL.

How do the Cowboys move down the field so masterfully? You can’t be stopped on third down if you never see third down. Dallas currently lands as the fifth-best team by percentage of offensive plays that occur during third down.

Even when the Cowboys face third down, they have the third-best conversion rate. The result is a team that has seen the most first downs in the NFL, which is impressive considering they are the third most penalized team on offense.

The one aspect of Dallas’ offense that needs to improve is red-zone efficiency. Scoring a touchdown on just 42.9% of their trips inside the opponents’ 20-yard line is well below the league average. If that singular statistic improves, this offense could average over 30 points a game.

The Cowboys have only punted four times through two games. That should tell you all you need to know about Kellen Moore. He is turning into an offensive mastermind, able to change the game plan week-to-week to dominate the defense he faces. Please don't ever leave us, Kellen Moore.

I hate when Romo keeps announcing it.
Jerry and son will need to make a bold move to retain him.
HC or see ya later.

Kellen is HC in waiting. Jerry will replace MM with Kellen at the earliest chance he get. Not many in the front office believe MM is vital on the coaching staff .
