I want to be able to run the ball effectively, if you are running and not running effectively because defense is bring up people to stop the run then you are a fool to just keep banging your head against a wall. If defense is bring people up to shut down the run then attack them with the pass and by the same token if teams want to sit in 2 deep safeties then run it. Main thing in my view is looking at what the defense is showing and attacking the defense based on that. In the end I'm not concerned on how many runs vs passes in the game because I think this team has the capability to use both run and pass to counter anything the defense is showing

Even if you go to the pass...you STILL have to have the running game. ESPECIALLY in the red zone where things crunch up a little bit.

You have to exert your will.....enough to keep them honest.

And you did NOTHIZNG about those...but now suddenly you object. It's hypocrisy for agenda sake.

And why do you think so HIGHLY of yourself you can psychoanalyze on a sports message board. Jeesh dude...talk about being a miserable person.

If you’re running more than passing it means you have a lead. It’s not complicated, Bayless.

It also means you do have a solid running game. You can't just run and go 3 and outs and keep that lead.

I expect they will run but you also have to be careful that you do not continue to the point that you start falling behind. What I love about this team is weapons in the backfield but weapons on the outside and I would not sit there trying to force a run vs a stacked defense when I have very dangerous weapons on the outside. I do agree in redzone especially inside the 5 you need to be able to run, I liked seeing McGovern put in a FB on a couple of plays deep in the redzone last week and would expect to see this again.

You definitely have a better chance to win if you have a balanced attach. But when the defense stacks the box the entire game to shut down the run, you'd be an idiot to keep running it and gaining 2 or 3 yards per carry and 3 and out after 3 and out. The elite offenses take what the defense gives you. When Emmitt was playing, teams would stack the box and more often than not shut him down in the 1st half. Troy would then do his thing but at the same time pound Emmitt in their just enough. By the 3rd and 4th quarter defenses would drop their safeties back and then Emmitt would get his yards against a tired defense. You can't just say where going to run the ball because running the ball more than passing is going to get you the win. That's wrong in many cases. If you're running effectively like the Cowboys have the last 2 games then hell yeah, keep doing what's successfull. But against the Bucs it didn't work and they had to start passing. Should've won the game except for 2 missed FG's and an extra point.

for me balance is not necessarily x amount of runs vs x amount of passes, it is the ability to use run or pass to attack your opponent. The numbers will vary from week to week and opponent to opponent. I want to take the matchups that we are able to exploit and do most damage.

So, Skip is an idiot who doesn’t understand how teams nurse leads to bleed clocks when they’re ahead. Got it. Thanks for sharing.

tbh half the board has trouble understanding that concept.

The run makes passing more effective.

Yes because it forces teams to commit more to stopping the run. Now if you go into a game with opposing team looking to stop the run and committing people up to stop it then again foolish to sit there and try to run, after all they are doing what you want them to do and should allow for big plays down the field.

So in skips world Dallas game plan every week should be we go out and run it say 35 time and pass less than 35 and we win? Hell that is easy game plan, 1st 35 plays just run it regardless of what the defense is doing and then throw a few passes and you have a win. 17-0, unfortunately does not work that way.

Most of us advocate a healthy balance, leaning toward each opponent’s weakness/strength. He’s simply trying to feed an agenda. No matter what Dak does, he won’t be won over, unless his #1 priority is the Cowboys’ winning. But being proven “right” means the most to some.

How about being proven “wrong”? Totally, completely, utterly wrong?

When does being dumb and not knowing football cross over into just being an obvious troll and saying anything in a pathetic attempt for attention?

We knew it years and years ago. Clock management is important. problem is when you are 21for 26 when you have to pass that causes problems that can't be overcome. Thanks @PAPPYDOG you sent a message you didn't mean to.
You need to manage the clock and run run run when you have a "Bus Driver" as a QB.......
