Zeke did lose a step.

People are called “haters” for not kissing the butt of every single player who wears the star. It’s so tiring. There’s nothing wrong with pointing out valid points, even if they’re star players.

Zeke got content with his place on the roster and very much did lose burst (and gained a few lbs at the same time).

But he approached this off season with renewed spirit and dedication to prove “the haters” wrong.

And prove us wrong, he is. He’s looking phenomenal this year because of the improvements he made over the summer. He lost weight and tirelessly worked on agility and conditioning.

The OP isn’t a gotcha post. Zeke DID lose a step and burst/wiggle. But he worked his butt off to gain that back.

I don’t think he is proving his haters wrong. I think he is doing what his haters have been wanting him to do.

Absolutely! We’re all on this forum because we want the best for every player. We want the best for every player because that would translate to more TEAM success. But I think it’s 100% acceptable, as a fan, to acknowledge when a player is not performing to expectations; that doesn’t make us any less of a fan. :star:

I told everyone he always starts slow but by week 3, he’s a different animal (except last year where he was just simply out of shape; probably thought covid would cancel the season)

What a bunch of BS.

Sadly Zeke is proving his doubters right. There are clearly two huge differences between last year and this year. Or even the last several years.

1. Zeke is in shape
2. The Oline is balling again.

Sadly, Zeke not being committed to his job affected his play.

Well, he was in a foot race to the end zone again (finally) and was clocked at 20.66 MPH. As a rookie he was clocked at 21.8 MPH. No excuse today for not getting to “top speed” with the room he had. Sorry, 2016 Zeke scores 6 on that play. That is “losing a step”.
Is this a joke post?

So you are saying rookie Zeke's to speed for an entire season was 21.8 and that proved his 20.66 today is a sign of losing a step?
I guess we need to ignore game situation, number of carries in the game up to that point, hits taken up to that point ect. Let's take his since fastest run from an entire season and pretend we can compare it to a single run today and call it proof.

Yikes.

A little motivation from Pollard goes a long way.
Motivation? He is in much better shape, as is our OL so far. And, oh yeah, so is our QB. Pure nonsense, and the reality is starts have aligned for him thus far to look like his old self.

Show me objective data he hasn’t lost a step. I won’t hold my breath because I know you can’t.

The argument up to today is he hasn’t had a run long enough to get up to speed. Well, that excuse is now gone.

Zeke didnt lose a step he just never had one. In seasons 2018-2020 he was just fat and out of shape. He finally got in shape again.

Zeke had fumbled the ball 5 times to this point last year. No one's fault but him.

Wrong.. Zeke had to break a tackle about 10 yards into that run today so in reality he only got to run about 25-30 yards to get up to speed on that one.. The 60 yarder his rookie year was an untouched sprint to the end zone.. Same for the screen he took 80 yards. He was never touched which is why he was able to get to full speed.. This run today was COMPLETELY different from either of those. He had a guy holding onto his arm until the 35 yard line on that play and then had to hit the accelerator after he shed him. Don't take my word for it.. Go watch for yourself and come back and talk about it.

Good lord. You have an excuse for everything. What perfect scenario does Zeke need to demonstrate his same speed?
