I hate this move. He's looked like a serviceable starter this year and without him, they're leaning on two rookies, one of which thst hasn't played any meaningful snaps against starting defenses, a guy that can't stay healthy in LVE, a converted safety, a non-converted safety, and a couple of guys that are total question marks in Gifford and Bernard.

This defense has been hot. Why make the move now? The team is primed to make a run and they cut quality depth 4 1/2 weeks into the season? We have no clue if Cox can play. We have no clue if Neal can stay healthy at his new position or hold up against the wear and tear of a 17 game season. Likewise for LVE and truthfully, he hasn't looked good this year. Kearse is your starting SS and I'm seeing him penciled in at nickel LB. That's an issue!

Rejoice all you want. I didn't think he would last till day 5 of the new league year but to cut him now is a dangerous game that potentially affects team chemistry and weakens the depth chart.

People talk about his lack of awareness, his clueless grandstanding, and his business crap but for me it truly boiled down to this: He could not plant and drive anymore. I don't know if his knee regressed or it was just in his head, but he could not plant and change direction quickly (which is a LB job requirement) and he couldn't drive through people (which is why he was washed out of plays anytime someone, ANYONE, blocked him).

Seeing him take 5 or 6 steps in a semi-circle to change direction was excruciating! I never wondered why he was forever chasing after guys...he had no plant-and-move-opposite ability.

Um….don’t get that. He’s been a decidedly average NFL linebacker this year playing a lower number of snaps. You already owe him all his money this season and you’re not going to get anyone better off the street.

Just seems like a pointless move that only hurts depth
The guy sucks. You suck at your job you get fired. Thank God they watched the film.

as far as him signing with someone who knows him and his limitations and attributes..

Matt Eberflus was his linebackers coach for two years and is the D-Coordinator in Indianapolis. They don't really use many linebackers and have a number of good players led by Darius Leonard.

Ben Bloom coached linebackers here under marinelli after Eberflus left. He is now an assistant on the Browns defense with the title of run game coordinator. They have a mix of young and veteran linebackers in Cleveland. Not sure how he fits there.

Richard coaches the DB's in New Orleans, Marinelli coaches the DL in Las Vegas and of course Garrett was the head coach here when he was drafted is running the offense in NY.

No idea who will sign him or what kid of role he would have.

Miles Austin STOLE big money for years based on TWO missed tackles in KC.

I remember he would refuse the myofascial deep tissue release therapies on those chronic hammys as well. They are supposed to be pretty effective, but it hurt too bad for Miles to tolerate.
