4 Games into the season and Byron Jones has 0 INTs and a few passes defensed and about 8 tackles. Oh, and he is injured now. Quad injury. The Dolphins are 1-3 with him. $16M for Byron Jones? No thanks.

I agree a 100%. Another poster said imagine had we kept Byron to pair with Diggs and my point is we probably wouldn’t have Diggs had we kept Byron.

This is the equivalent of a parent telling their child i wish you were never born. I hope J Smooth enjoys his giant pile of dirty money cause he will be remembered as nothing more than a stinking festering wound that took forever to eliminate.

Calm down bro.. I mean he was good for some laughs, but that imagery is kind of harsh. If we were in his situation, we’d do the same. Get paid, while having a lingering injury issue that is probably dictating a short career.

In the back of my mind, I always noticed the constant smiling, but it's the first time I've heard anyone suggest he wasn't the same otherwise. But I do remember him being awful in drills.
Gotta admit, he smiles a lot. You got to put effort into that. Not sure if that's respectable or creepy. I get trying to be positive, but it's easy to be seen as inauthentic as well.

Don’t think it was MM decision at all . Heck , MM named Smith captain against the panthers last week !! He had no clue .
This is probably all Quinn whom advised Jerry of how slow Smith was among a defense based on speed running to the ball . Smith just could not hack it . Plus if they keep him have to pay 9.2 million next year !! No way . Let him go now and promote Cox and the new guys . jerry had to agree . This move gives them cap space for next year . Long overdue correction of an old Jerry mistake .
Will this mean LVE needs to watch his back.....he ain't speed as well?

Here we go.......a strange move in the middle of something going good. Now this board will need a new Fall Guy. Not surprised......and when the wheels start falling off, it will be the same Karma this team has been under. Let's see. Guess the film room did a great editing job when view LB play.
So the wheels are going to fall off because we released Jaylon? Come on, have you watched him play, he is not very good and was a liability.....

Nawww...this is not the same equivalent. I'm with the other poster...your imagery is way off.

Well, certainly can't say it's not "watch your back" time for LVE. But supposedly Quinn believes LVE has more in the tank and can contribute. The question I want to know is will they offer him a contract worth anything or let him go test the market as a free agent?

What's not as surprising is that NO team wanted to trade for him! You would have thought we could have gotten a 5th or 6th or 7th round pick for him. Obviously no team thought that much of him that they would use a draft pick to guarantee his services....what does that say!
I keep seeing this pop up but it seems like there is a good bit of interest to sign him. It's not that they don't like the player. They just didn't want the contract....and everyone with a pulse can agree on that.

They were not allowed to cut him before the season started because he had wrist surgery in the offseason. Some kind of contract or NFLPA thing, I'm guessing.
I think they could have cut him, but it wouldn't save them any money: his salary was already guaranteed because of the surgery.

But I don't see why the timing now is such a surprise. The team has been missing a lot of guys in the front seven and needed bodies. When those guys start coming back, decisions have to be made. With Gregory and Neal coming back, this particular timing makes a lot of sense.
