Adams just like Parsons lined up all over the field. You guys are excited about Neal’s play? Adams has been doing that and more. Y’all are getting ahead of yourself. He’s struggling this year but Adams has been great his whole career.

Comparing Adams to Parsons is *slander* against Parsons.

Adams plays one position...and he's not playing it well.

It would take a generational safety who was the missing piece to a championship caliber defense for me to even consider trading that much draft capital for one guy. Jamal Adams is not that guy and I was exhilarated when Seattle made the move instead of us.

When you give up that many resources to 1 player you rarely win. The cowboys best moves in recent years have come from staying put or moving back and picking the best players in the draft or waiting in free agency till the overpaid guys are gone. It's not when they make mega trades or signings.

He’s going to Philly, they have 3 first round picks (Dolphins, Colts, and their own) that are all currently in the top 10 of this years draft, and he fits exactly what they look for in a QB.
Yea but he’s old. I can’t see Philly being dumb enough to think they are 1 old Wilson from winning. If it were Watson maybe. Otherwise they have so many holes to fill.

They made a mistake trading all that for him and then compounding the problem by miss using him. Adams has to be used to attack, you have to move him around and send him after the QB. Not sit back every play in a zone. He has coverage, he wasnt a liability before, but thats not where he is making his money.

Given the contract situation, even a single first was too much. I think his real value was more like a #2. He was one of the better S's in the NFL when he was traded, but he doesnt take the ball away. As silly as it may sound, Id rather have Wilson

I don’t think it sounds silly at all. Adam’s is better but not so much better as to justify the costs.

Seahawks GM is Jerry circa 2000. Still trying to live off of the Super Bowl years while having horrible drafts, making bad trades, etc. If you look at their drafts in the past 5 years, they are one of the worst in the league.
What's the name of the back they chose in the first round a few years back?
Yeah, I forgot too.

After his rook year: "If 2nd year S's Adams and Mayes can clean up their pass coverage...."

After 2nd year: "Emerging as one of league's best S's w/ top shelf instincts, hitting ability."

After 3rd year: "He's a very good tackler and blitzer."

Translation: Box S who can't cover. Great blitzer as evidenced by 9.5 sacks last year, but can't cover. Put a few pounds on him and put him at LB?

Sooooooo, Carroll traded two 1sts for a box S who can't cover.

Well said. Many fans get too enamored with names everyone’s heard of rather than our own young players with more upside on rookie contracts or even future draft picks that are the future. Big names don’t always equal big results.
The Charles Haley and Deion Sanders moves were totally different than moves today. First of all, Haley was 28 when we acquired him and was already under contract. That was pre-salary cap days. Sanders was also 28, but was a FA but it was a very different financial climate then. Both players were literally in their primes and had no prior major injuries.

In the case of Stephon Gilmore, he’s 31, coming off a major injury, and would probably be a “rent a player” because of future salary cap issues. Not at all the same as the Haley/Sanders moves. Besides, we just drafted a CB in round 2 and we haven’t even seen what he could do yet.

Deion was a mercenary, and Haley, well, defecated and urinated his way out of San Francisco and to Dallas. ;)

I can honestly say that I would have gladly taken Adams for the right price, but the Seahawks gave up way too much.

even if he was play great it still would not be worth it because he is just a safety

if u go all in with 1st round pics and then biggest contract for positon in history it better be a edge rush, DT, or CB or u will regert it. 99.9%

mack...ramsey...that is ok

Quarterback too.

I remember when a lot of fans were campaigning for the Cowboys to trade for Jamal Adams. The Seahawks ultimately did, giving up two 1st round picks-plus for him. They've since had to make him the league's highest-paid safety, and both he and their entire defense are now a mess.

Sometimes, it's as much about what you don't do as what you do.

How about hiring Urban Meyer. I'm no fan of McCarthy but Urban Meyer looks to be an absolute disaster. What a mess he's created for the Jaguars organization

I was too.

I can understand fans getting caught up in the Jamal Adams hype but I don’t understand an NFL team doing it.

His skill set is so out dated and a little success doesn’t change that.

The safety to have gone and gotten was Minkah Fitzpatrick when He failed as a NFL corner. He’s a natural center fielder.

After watching how improved the Cowboys are this season I don’t think we should over pay for any of our free agents next offseason. Offer fair team friendly contracts to Gregory, Gallup, LVE, Hooker, Shultz, Kazee and Kearse but don’t put the cap in jeopardy.

I like aspects of Adams’ game as well. But they’re limited for making him the league’s highest paid safety.
