Not a good game, but still won by 24 points./ Daniel Jones should have gotten the flag

Think about the title. This says something good about the team. We played sloppy in the first half 2 turnovers. Typically a collapse in prior years.

Also to add, I feel bad for players who go down, but I'm seeing Giants yelling for flags on the Daniel Jones hit, claiming helmet to helment.. and I agree. ... D.JONES! should have been penalized for lowering his helmet..

No disrespect for the Giants from me.

But we were expected to perform like a super bowl team despite injuries last season. We’re still missing a multitude of starters as well. Now we didn’t lose Dak … so it’s somewhat different. But it’s crazy to me how it’s “oh the giants are too banged up”

no he was RB they dont get the same protection..zeke gets hit like that 3 times game and no calls..got it you want to run lie RB take the hits or stop running..Allen gonna learn that hard lesson soon..he went head first dive into the endzone he lowered his body angle and head its not flags for a RB..

i dont feel bad at all given we got no breaks or sympathy missing 17 players last year played with 3rd string teams nd even our clueless fans judged the team over that mess as if it could have ended any differently teams beat up on us all season..

after some dirty plays from them throughout the game i feel less then nothing for the players lost they will be fine..none are season ending, its football buck up or bow out son!!

Dallas was clearly the better team and would've eventually won regardless....however

The Giants:
--lost their star RB immediately (Barkley out after the very 1st series)
--lost their QB pretty early (score was 10-10 when Jones left the game. Our 2 ints were on Glennon)
--lost a starting WR (Golliday)

...all in one game. That's pretty brutal

Man, can you imagine the little yellow flag flying in from off-screen as Jones is trying wobble off the field? Talk about insult to injury. Oof.

I mean, I agree it should have been flag and said as much in the game thread. But I’m only now stopping to consider that part of it.

not the LB being flagged, but Daniel Jones should have been flagged. Just saying

The day a ball carrier can’t lower his head trying to get in the end zone is the day they put skirts and little flags hanging off the backs of them......isn’t this league wussified enough already?

I don't get the idea there should have been a flag. He was a runner, runner's lower the head all the time and get hit in the helmet, every running back in the league does it. If that should be a flag, then the running game would end for all teams. It was two guys playing football, that is all. I didn't see anything wrong from either player at all.

They lost Golladay but that’s moot.

Toney had damn near 200 receiving yards lol

Techincally that rule is in effect. You can't use the crown of your helmet.

I said the same thing watching the replay....I feel bad for jones, but when he runs and is out of pocket, in essence he is a Runner at that point and is not allowed to lower and lead with his helmet

While the NFL Rules Committee hawked that helmet issue, did anyone really think they were going to enforce that with any runners? Runners have been lowering their helmets since they were leather with no face mask.

Jones did a terrible job of protecting himself, his #1 job as the QB1 of his team. He's a Duke guy and supposed to be smarter than that.

I like the way the color guys talk about how that fires up the team to see a QB lay it all out at the goal line and I think that is total BS. Any smart player realizes they need that guy to achieve any potential they have. One careless play and he's out.

I agree. I think this is the lesson Dak learned very well. When he ran yesterday.. He slid! very unDakish. lol

They do not enforce it with runners or tacklers unless the player is deemed defenseless and it's egregious. They're not allowed to even brush the side of the QB's helmet when he's in the pocket but when he pulls it down, he realizes he's no longer protected.

And it was obvious on that play that Jones was actually trying to use his helmet to his advantage and he initiated the contact on Cox. Dumb play by the QB. Gutsy play but he's supposed to be smarter than that.

I wonder how many coaches are showing that play to their QB's this week, especially that part where he was drooling and stumbling.

When Jones dropped his head into Cox I immediately had flashbacks of Demarco Murray. He definitely should have been flagged for leading with the crown of his helmet.
