Softening My Stance on Kellen "The Hammer" Moore

I am warming up to the idea that Kellen "The Hammer" Moore might be developing into a great play caller. He continues to get in a groove with Dak (MVP candidate and rightfully so) and our offense is cooking! I do want to see us beat some great teams but the arrow is pointing up and I love what I have seen this season from Moore.

The end game for me will always be winning a divisional round game but for now, this is a Cowboys team with the arrow pointing UP!

And the most important point is that we don't know what Dak's ceiling is! He is playing at an even higher level than the past two seasons and he continues to improve. Dak is in the process of competing for MVP and his leadership is something we haven't seem here in Dallas maybe going all the way back to Aikman.

There’s no one else I’d rather have calling the plays for this team right now.

Kellens got this offense humming like a well oiled machine. He’s just completely dialed in.

I don’t hesitate in saying that we have the best offense in the NFL right now. There’s just too much talent on the field and Kellen just puts us over the top.

I would rather you just admit you were wrong. This notion that he was bad before and is suddenly developing into greatness is laughable. Moore has been great from the start. It was even more obvious previously when we had tons of injuries and the Cowboys were the #1 offense in NFL history with Dak last year.

Dak has been a great leader since day #1 and has always been great here. Looks like you were wrong on both counts.

Agree Moore was always good he had to deal with injuries & Dak missed most of the season last year.

I'll ask the same question yet again of the Dak haters that I have yet to get a real answer to.....

If Garrett was so awful (and he was and still is somehow), how was Prescott supposed to excel in that situation?

You can't go trashing Garrett AND Prescott.

Makes little sense before giving #4 at least a couple of seasons in a better situation.

This is year one as far as I'm concerned.

It really is mind blowing that after watching Garrett's offense for 14 years that anyone wouldnt be blown away by what Moore has done from day #1. Dak and the passing offense took off when Moore came in. Even under Garrett he was implementing things Garrett had never done and with the deep ball.

But then again, I am sure some of these Moore haters were Garrett lovers. That would make sense.

The best part is that Dak did excel in that situation. But we all know that he and the offense were held back.

im coming around to Kellen but you can also see Mike McCarthys influence

McCarthy has always been a great offensive mind and he knows Kellen is as well and Kellen has benefitted from McCarthy

me too. my complaint was that sometimes he tries to outsmart himself. there is been less of that. saw a few new wrinkles and plays, which is good. keep defensive coordinators on their toes. seems to have much improved the redzone play calling, which was my complaint after first two weeks....yes, arrow is pointing up. he is growing up right in front of our eyes

Being willing to simply beat up a defense and run the ball play after play has been the biggest aspect of Kellen's play calling development imo. Dude is in a really good rhythm and hopefully this current streak is KM's new standard.

Great.

Waiting still on your “Changed my mind: Tom Brady is an pretty good QB” thread.

Brady has a history, a long history of playing QB at an elite level. Conversely, KMoore became our O-Coordinator with no history, good or bad so yes color me skeptical when a guy with no winning track record (no O-coordinator track record at all lol) has to prove his worth over the course of more than a few games or a single season.

So the whole premise on your post is you'll believe he's a successful coordinator after he's become a successful coordinator. Ground breaking stuff.
