How can you not be loving this as a cowboy fan. Yes we are for real. Yes we will lose some football games. Yes this is the most fun I’ve had in a while. I’m enjoying it. Go cowboys Love me some defense
I am truly excited but living through all those years still leaves me waiting until the games count. I will be cheering as usual and enjoying the ride along the way. This team does have a different feel which is hard to ignore. :flagwave::flagwave::flagwave:

Offenses can still generate tons of yards on this defense, but the difference is our D can create turnovers. Our CBs are not allergic to interceptions.
I think we average same number of points as last year 34 points vs. 32.6....difference between 2-3 and 4-1 is obviousl the defense giving up 23.4 vs. 36......amazing isn't it.

run defense is even bigger than interceptions....if you can't stop the run...you have no chance.

I am happy that the Dak and Zeke haters mostly have disappeared.
:lmao:

I am sure they are waiting in the woodwork, under the rocks. :muttley:
they are just lurking around the corner.....they are just waiting, knowing that we will lose some games and they are going to come with their fingers pointing, ready to attack..you know it. I know it. they know it....pathetic isn't it.I will point them back to this post.....

In years past we had the gut check knowing things would blow up. In years past we haven't had the youth leading this team to where we are at, and the culture is 100% different. The encouraging encouraging news is that we aren't even playing at best health, or our best football yet. If Brown/Joseph, et al, firm up our other side things will only get better. As much as teams don't want to go Diggs way, this dude just finds a way to get involved in the play, you cannot avoid him entirely. Our key is health....

Yes, but isn't that true for just about any team? I've said for years that my observation was that come playoff time, the teams with the least injuries are the ones that are successful in the playoffs. How did Pittsburgh win 4 SBs in 6 years? Besides talent? Just look at those SB years and the games played by their core players - Bradshaw, Harris, Swann, Green, Lambert, etc. - they PLAYED. None of this "concussion protocol", you got your "bell rung" and after a few whiffs of ammonia you were back in the game. Get a sprained knee? Wrap it up and get back on the field. Broken ribs? Shot of novacain and you're good to go.

But I digress.

Yes health is key, but have to remember no Collins, no Lawrence, no Hill, no Gallimore, no Gallup, yet we're still 4-1. IF those guys can get back on the field and aren't replaced by others on the DL, we might see the birth of a team that can beat anybody, any day, any where...

really in 5 regulars season games its all forgiven? seriously we have had years just like this in 2007-2009, 2014, 2016, 2018 etc etc

this is NOT the first time we have shot a special; season in 25years

if you dont remember how great it felt to turn around 2018 start 3-5 and go on a roll and end up in the 2nd round of the payoffs, you weren't paying attention..it felt just like this but better , why because we know how it needed, where it went,. we actually made the payoffs and beat Seattle and got to the 2nd round..that Seattle game was awesome, what you blocked it out..??

if you think this little 4-1 start was better than that finish, you are seriously in need of this wake up call out!!

can we stop the drama its FIVE GAMES into a 17 game season and we are already booking this as a special season? put away the anointing oil until the real season starts..its not how you start its how you finish so we can visit how this FULL season stacks up to those others but 2016 felt just like this maybe better because it was complete and total surprise.

we already knew our offense had this firepower and potential. most of us with common sense KNEW that 2020 was a mulligan and not a reflection on our real team. this is more like what we expected last season and many unforeseen circumstances derailed that season. Most KNEW our OL and great players would come back and play well

so even with a great start to season, we have to drag in the tired 25year narratives. Man some of you really need to check the emotions at the door this season has nothing to do with what happened over the last 25 years..it erases nothing, the only way it erases soem bad memory's, if we get to the NFCCG, period ..

thats it because we have had great teams in this so called 25year narrative who won BYEs and had second round games many times..they fell short , you saying starting 4-1 erases those better actual compete seasons of good ball?? it does NOT! we had MVP candidates at QB, we have had rushing champions, we have had HOF Pass rushers and soem great LB play..we have had offenses that appeared unstoppable this is not the first time in 25 years..

NFCCG or bust that the only finish that can out to bed the 25years of disappointment and let downs..

you know what makes it feel better its better then how 2019 ended and 2020 unfolded, that a nice way to start erasing those memories as its actually in the same window with players and coaches who actually were still here on this team..thats what matters .

25 years, so tired of this narrative..man move on!!

each season is one off new year that stands on its own..

you are using a 4-1 start to erase 25years of bad memory's and some how skip over the other great years we have had in between. That why,

IM just you trying to remind this place we have had runs just like this, not new, and this is the beginning of the season , not the end..

its a nice start, been fun but not new and far far from finished..

IM not setting myself up for a huge disappointment by getting ahead of myself..17 games my friend, this could end bad , nothings been guaranteed..if 25 years taught you something, its expectations can fall hard...we have had our share of disappointments.

i like to take each week and a enjoy it without mentioning the 25 years as if this season has meant anything yet....

I’m doing no such thing. I’m just enjoying the season. Setting yourself up for disappointment. Then you must be looking ahead. Come on. Contradicting yourself constantly here. You have a bad morning somewhere. Everyone enjoys it a different way. Let me enjoy it my way. And then you do it yours. Go cowboys I no longer have those feelings of failure Tony’s gone . Yep

your heading says all we went through over 25 years lmao..doesn't say what a great 2021 or what a great start to 2021..or 2021 might be special...its clear you feel this 4-1 start is the only special feeling youve had since 1996....

it clearly only mentions 25years.. so yes you are it implied as if those other great seasons somehow are forgotten, like i said 2016 and 2018 are more recent and very special years at least we were actually in the playoffs. If you dint feel that finish in 2018 was the best year since those 25 years well you weren't paying attention..nearly a story book finish start 3-5 and end up in the second round of the payoffs??

Can we tone down the hype? Yea they look great through 5 games but ease up already, we still have 12 games left and anything can happen.

I treat every year as a journey.
What else should we do? Just be miserable until the Championship game that might be coming?

I enjoy football and I enjoy watching the team I root for win.
Watching them beat the Giants is fun and I enjoy it, not scowl and be like: Like they've won anything.

They did!

They just beat a rival! Enjoy that! They put a hurting on the Eagles! I love that! They're 4-1! I'll take it to this point!

The SB, or Bust guys are sad to me, but I'm not going to sweat them. Let them do what they do.
I'm glad that football is still being played and I get to watch it and my team is winning right now which makes it all the more enjoyable.

Where they end up this year?
That's the intrigue. It may well end up in disappointment (odds are high) and yet it's the Journey that gets you there.

Now I'm off to listen to some Journey.

So much of this!! That's what makes road trips so fun. You enjoy the exploration, the stops, and the sightseeing along the way. You have to enjoy the entirety of the journey

Not true, in the past, we had some good run defenses but lacked an equally potent pass rush, and this allowed teams to hang 300+ yards on us and win games.
