do cowboys get cap relief from the suspension?
That s cold . . . but trueNews to me if he did? What’s he going to say?
Dak: I need my RT back.
Judge: You are 4-0 without him.
Dak: Never mind
As a player, he has played as well as any OT in the league up until last season. He came into camp out of shape last season and everything has went downhill since then.I am not in love with Collins as a player !

With the way Steele has been playing, Collins due back (if I am correct) in Week 8 against the Vikings, and the NFL trade deadline set for Nov. 2nd (Tuesday after Week 8), could Dallas say enough is enough and try and move on from Collins ala J. Smith?
Cap Savings if traded/released starting in 2022 (salary cap hit V. dead money):
2022 $1.3M savings
2023 $15.25M
2024 $13.45M

Stephen Jones already said today that LC will be with the Cowboys for a long time. Don't hold your breath waiting for a trade. Plus, depth is important.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think Steele shouldn't be replaced but here we are. He's balling out and let's not mess with a good thing.I’ll be happy to have Collins back as depth, but I’m not moving Steele from that RT spot. He’s been too good and too dependable.
Take it with a grain of salt as JJ & SJ are not going to come out and say Collins is getting cut as soon as he comes back. Remember, in Nov. 2020 JJ called J. Smith a 'cornerstone' to the Dallas defense.....and we know how that ended up.
Yes,that was before he refused to remove the injury clause, showed he wasn't able to push the sled, dove for a ball 10 yards away, got caught multiple times hitting the wrong hole, got beat to the ball carrier by LVE even though he was 5 yards closer, and on, and on, and on. Smith Gave the Jones multiple reasons since the time of that comment to release him.
In this instance Stephen wasn't answering a question about his longevity, but he chose to throw that out there anyway...so barring L'ael doing something stupid (which is likely), or not being as good as he was, I don't see the Jones trading him.
Well, I agree about Smith as many could see he wasn't a cornerstone player.
Regarding Collins, he missed all of 2020 due to some kind of injury after reporting to camp badly out of shape. Now, he has a 5-game suspension due to missing drug tests and reportedly bribed a collector. Now I am not in the 'know' with JJ & SJ but I would say Collins is not doing himself any favors.
Jerry being vague:

Terence Steele will remain at right tackle for the Cowboys this week and Jones discussed the possibility that he’ll remain there once Collins is back on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday.
“Is he an argument I guess — I guess that’s okay to say he’s an argument, a case, whatever. And, boy, has he,” Jones said. “He’s just played outstanding. Boy, he has shown me he has a long-term future in this game and this game with the Cowboys. So, he’s played outstanding relatively speaking. Now, that doesn’t mean that La’el Collins is any less of a player. La’el Collins is a significant member of the team. And, so, this just gives us what you hope for: young player ascending and gives us depth and gives us, if you will, an alternative. All of that is there.”
I am sure he is on thin ice, but I think for now he is safe.
A 300+ pound lineman on thin ice.....I hope he can swim.
.he did. Read about it.Didnt Dak testify on his behalf?
I am in love with this new Jerry that has shown up recently that gives answers like these that just really please everyone and aren't controversial. What has happened to him?
