This is a prediction I made 11 months ago, and it turns out that it's coming true. Of course, a large part of this goes to free agency acquisitions, which I didn't consider. I'm enjoying the comments, and I do think a Dynasty is in the works here. Congrats to the front office and especially Will McClay and the talent evaluation that is being done.

BEGIN QUOTE...

"By all accounts, 2020's draft was supreme, every pick Dallas made could have been met with a high grade, had they been picked a round early. CeeDee was just a bonus, icing on the cake for a solid draft, making it legendary.

So now, envision this
QB
Dak, Garrett Gilbert, Dinucci
Starting O-line
Tyron Smith, Blue chip top 10 overall LG if Surtain isn't available, Biadisz, Zack Martin, La'el Collins
Backups: Williams, Steele, Looney, McGovern
WR
Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Wilson, Brown
TE
Schultz, Jarwin
RB
Elliott, Pollard, 4th round RB

D Line
DLaw, Gregory, Aldon Smith, Gallimore, Woods, Anae, Armstrong, 3rd round pick B

LB's
VanderEsch, Jaylon Smith, THomas, Bernard, 3rd Round pick A

Secondary
Diggs, Lewis, 2nd round pick, (or Surtain in the first) Reggie Robinson, Woods, Wilson, (Brown or Awuzie)

That still leaves 11 players to keep on the roster, 8 more after LS, P, and K are covered. This roster could be so stacked, with quality players in 2 successive drafts! Injuries have a silver lining, because this roster will be so excessively talented, we could see sustained years of success if the coaching improves"

Yes, I am serious.. I think the talent that can be assembled with a loaded roster for 2020 with injuries in a year that they SHOULD have dominated presents an opportunity. Load again with a repeat success story that the 2020 draft brought, trade some players if necessary and get more picks. Herschel Walker trades won't happen again, but an injury riddled year is a great opportunity. Right now Dallas is playing with a preseason offensive line, ensuring a high draft pick in 2021. They'll get everyone back in 2021.

now we get to add more premium draft picks this upcoming offseason, because of the injuries. We can trade some players away for additional picks or players that fit the scheme. Rarely does such a talented team get to add talent two years in a row. Nov 28th 2020

Look I'm not saying that all this dynasty stuff is a lock or a guarantee. However, it is an opportunity, after a year where Dallas had a great draft, their advantage they have in the existing talent that was forced to IR in most cases. In the coming year, the roster talent can balloon far above what other teams have, because of the lower draft picks they'll get due to better records. There's hopefully a silver lining to the injuries, and I'm fine with Dallas taking some risks and trading away a few players in order to stack the deck with talent. Will McClay is key, and has proven that he is right in acquiring good talent. Dec 2, 2020

End quote... pretty close to spot on prediction... injuries are always the problem, and officiating can overwrite a lot of good things.

OMG!!! seriously dont we have to win one SB first then talk dynasty!!:facepalm:

SLOW down!!

thats my point go ahead keep on with the bloated expectations 5 games in and find out how much further this place sinks into darkness when those expectations fall far short..

football has always been special to me over all other sports, why very very long offseason, tedious to wait on real football to come back and then very very short season, shortest of all sports, one and done playoff formats etc etc

so enjoy the week at hand let it marinate , take it game by game because rushing it by looking too far forward is like cooking a steak in microwave LOL i bet they also put ketchup on it..

enjoy the moment the entire premise of discussing the division wins, playoffs, and these ridiculous stat projections isnt what games are about..this week lets focus on NE..

ill see these same fans Im talking to in here in February to discus how the season really went and talk all of you off the ledge as usual..

In preseason most of you had this team winning 8 games maybe 9, didn't want MM as the coach, said kellen sucked, dak wouldn't recover from his injuries, the FA were band of cheapskate moves that would once again fail, frothed at the mouth over how no PS game work for the offense would lead to a disaster, TB would make us look so bad we would want to pack up and move the team overnight to new city with fresh start, that our OL was old and we made big mistake drafting a box LB in parsons and how stupid the FO was to not trade up for X players ie a safety , LT/RT, and the 3rd round was just another year of bad picks, all reaches, zeke was done, overpaid , and no amount of him posting pics of his relentless workouts against garbage cans would change that, and Washington were the clear favorites to win this division and their defense was unstoppable and all they needed was fitzmagic to make them kings of the east then first to repeat in many years. lets add Rivera was a better then MM and we only wished Jerry got Urban Meyer or rhule over anyone but MM. Oh yes the fact they replaced the punter and snapper we are again being so stupid and these moves were Bones was just getting players that were worse because they were "his guys" and while they would be worse it didn't matter. nepotism kept coming up..OH yes the this team has no depth and would fold at any injury that happened.

then the season starts and ,

  • Anthony brown needs to be replaced , he and lewis sux and we would rue the day we kept them
  • no way steele or Ty N could replace LC and martin needs to be a rt and the coaches were stupid for using steele.
  • the constant go make trade because out DL sucked and blah blah blah every player released or trade made was the Jones boys being stupid for not participating.

I most likely left something out..but you get the point??

so went from impending doom to Overhype.. lmao this place doesn't know what middle ground is if it they were standing on it.. ITs great to talk about how positive games are going and where we stand now but jeez the projections and forecasting are getting far too ahead of ourselves..

we go from a majority in here predicting impending doom before th season 2 games in some still holding on to dumb narratives and all of sudden now 5 games in we are predicting Sbs, division wins, ridiculous forecasting of stats etc etc the constant talk of power rankings and arguing over where players and the team ranks on these media lists weekly..:espn:

We are approximately 30% into the season and we’re proclaiming “dynasty”? Wow, I would like to win the division first, secure a #1 or #2 seed first, win a divisional playoff game first, win an NFC championship and win a Super Bowl first before even thinking “dynasty”.

I’m very excited about our 4-1 start and very encouraged by the changes I’ve seen in the culture. But there’s a ton of football left to be played before I’m ready to declare the “d” word.

Lets not forget the play offs are a entirely different environment, just ask Tony Romo how difficult it is. We keep winning and beat the Rams, Cards or the Bucs in the NFC Playoff Game then we can talk about Dynasty.

Yes, I agree the playoff success has not been achieved... but I'm saying that a Dynasty was in the works last season, big picture... because the roster was loaded last year, and injuries to some stars allowed Dallas to be in the top 10 again. Based on the legendary 2020 draft, a repeat of that... (which we didn't quite get..) would be huge. I think Dallas hit on 3 key 2021 drafted players. Parsons obviously, Odighizowa, and Jabril Cox. Of course, I like Ralston too... but he's seen practically zero offensive playing time. All the free agency additions puts Dallas at the pinnacle of talented rosters. What's more, the OC is using them creatively, and I like what I'm seeing from Al Harris in the secondary. The front 7 are having excellent production, too. It would be difficult to name a more talented roster than the Cowboys.

True, a dynasty puts the talent into the right schemes, but that's why I say that its "IN THE WORKS"

Unfortunately the bar has been lowered so much by the front office that a measly wild card win seems like a Super Bowl championship. We have a lot of competition in the NFC and Dak has to stay healthy. But calling us elite is a joke. Winning big playoff games is the only way to silence our detractors.

Perhaps you should've waited longer than 5 games to start patting yourself on the back?

Despite the good start it's a long way to Super Bowl LVI, much less "dynasty" talk. :muttley:

I love what I'm seeing so far this year, and while I appreciate the extreme confidence displayed by the OP, I would say let's temper our expectations until we can at least win 1 Super Bowl.

I'll be honest though, I do hope I'm wrong and the OP is right. I'll gladly eat crow on a subject such as this one. :D

Dynasty’s are not created by a strong group of players. You have to pay them all and can’t keep everyone.

Dynasty’s are created by strong organizational processes that stay ahead of the rest of the league. Do we have that much faith in Stephen?
