The Cowboys signed fullback Nick Ralston to the active roster from the practice squad. Ralston was elevated and returned to the practice squad the past three weeks. But if the Cowboys did that again he would have been subject to waivers on Monday, so now he's on the 53.

He also got a two year deal. I like this since he has worked so hard since he's gotten here and from what I've heard he's always wanted to be a Cowboy!

If one had to pick between using Ralston or McGovern as FB during goal line situations, I would definitely take McGovern. Plus, when has a FB even been used all year, besides at the goal line?

Cowboys have at least 5 players coming back after the bye week. Using a much needed 53 team roster spot for a FB who the Cowboys never use, especially with 5 players ready to come back in a few days, makes absolutely no sense.

Nothing against Ralston. I like him, but...which player is going to get cut to make room for a FB whom the Cowboys have yet to use at all in our Offense after 5 weeks?

Not sure what is trying to be accomplished with this move. I can't see him on the 53 after the bye week. Hope he plays well tomorrow though.

Right now, it looks like it's mainly a special-teams move since McGovern has been playing fullback.

Might be a sign McGovern is getting closer to starting on the o-line and won't be able to fill the FB role he's been filling on running plays.

Furthermore, Ralston helps ST's which we can use a boost and helps the running game.

I am happy to have a FB on this team.

Ralston best not get too comfortable.

Or make himself more indispensable than just specials.

If I had to guess I would say Farniok, Anae, Fehoko, Turner, Nsekhe, and Gifford shouldn’t get comfortable. Gallimore, Hill, Joseph, Mckeon, and D-Law aren’t too far away.
