Regular season is one thing.

Didn't think this mattered anyway. The only way Romo was involved was calling the game today. Don't know why people feel the need to crap on Romo with Dak playing well.

I’m not crapping on him I’m just being honest. I didn’t bring him up just responded to the topic. I always thought he was a very good QB but was lacking leadership and had a difficult time maintaining his poise in games like we had today. Dak is everything we all wanted Romo to be. Dak is special! We see it consistently! I wouldn’t take Pat Mahomes and a draft pick over him.

Dude, you've brought him up in several posts.

Dak has already surpassed Romo. I made that realization this year. I'd rather have this Dak than any version of Romo. It sucks and plenty of blame to go around but Romo couldn't get it done.

He became the HC of the Patriots in 2000. Prior to that he was the HC for Cleveland and DC for the Jets. Now he was the DC for NYG in 1990 so maybe Aikmans second year for a game or two?
So yeah lets make a comparison to someone Aikman never really played against.

Not to mention the the game that is played in this decade is nothing like the game played in the 90s.

I don't mean this to disparage Troy in any way.. Rather it was to point out the significance of what we just saw from Dak today. Of course the raw numbers would not be comparable given the eras.. but the level of effectiveness is what stands out.. Troy's totals facing Belichick in his career..

1989 - Giants 15-0 .. I won't even post the numbers.. they were horrible but he was a rookie.
1990 - Giants 28-7 (109 yards 0 TD 2 INT) and 31-17 (233 yards 1 TD 1 INT)
1994 - Browns 19-14 (188 yards 1 TD 2 INT)
1999 - Jets 22-21 ( 1 TD 2 INT .. 158 yards)

So Troy went 0-5 in his career against Belichick and only topped 200 yards once.

I say again.. Troy never got into the same zip code against Belichick as what we saw from Dak today..

I’ve always thought romo was better. He’s more accurate and has a faster release, but Dak has closed the gap a lot this year. If he improves in the red zone, I’ll have to say he’s better.
Why does one have to be better than the other. Both are Cowboys and we were lucky to have Tony and we got lucky again to find Dak in the 4th round.

What's funny is some of us been trying to tell you that Dak was that dude. We tried to tell you he was worth the contract. You didn't believe us.

Romo was my favorite player because we always had a chance. Dak gives us that chance too but he’s a leader of men and it’s contagious

The biggest difference between Dak and Romo is that Romo was usually good for one or two games a year when he had 3 INTs in the first half. Dak doesn't do that. He comes out of his funks as quickly as any player I've ever seen. Even when he's a little off and not leading us on scoring drives he still generally takes care of the ball. That's what separates him from Romo IMHO. Romo's funks usually featured a ton of turnovers.. Dak's funks might result in one turnover and a bunch of 3 and outs.. but almost never a bunch of turnovers leaving us no chance to win.

Aikman would beg to differ. Today's game is a great example of Dak not quite being there yet. So many times guys have to reach or slow down to make the catch. He rarely hits them in stride for that extra YAC.
I wouldn’t say rarely but yes today some of his throws didn’t help the receivers

We NEVER pass into the end zone. The 4 straight gut runs before half was cringy

Dak played a great game though but I don't think KM trusts him to pass in the RZ

Didn't he hit Lamb in the end zone from inside the 5? I just think from the 1 yard line you should be able to run it in the end zone so don't blame them running it 4 times.

Just once, on this board, I'd like to see someone nut up and say, "Romo is my favorite Cowboy, and because of that I don't like Dak," instead of always playing coy with unverifiable statements and riddles like, "Romo was better."
